The 4th and final round of the Paraguay Nationals Championship was held this past weekend following events in Hohenau, Captain Meza, and Ciudad del Este. The race format saw two round of 10 minute qualifying followed by 30 minute semis and a 45 minute main final. At the end Marcelo Garcete Talavera came out successful in front of his Serpent teammate Manuel Dressler.

The Western Australia EP Off-Road Interclub Series recently kicked off at MORBC in Whiteman Park with 84 entries across six classes with 20 4WD Modified and 18 EP8 entries to bolster the racing and excitement. The MORBC club put on an incredible event, turning it up with a fresh and exciting layout designed with 1/10th cars in mind. With a little help from the weather to put on a fantastic day, the scene was set for some great racing with WA’s best and fastest drivers all turning out including back-to-back 4WD Modified Australian champion Josh Pain, 2014 4WD SCT Australian champion Kyle Francis and 2014 2WD Modified runner-up and 4WD Modified number three driver Craig Laughton.

This past weekend saw the Opening Race at the RC Tracks Las Vegas venue, home of the 2016 1/8th Offroad Worlds. The 1/8th Nitro Buggy class saw HB’s Ty Tessmann taking the win in the A-main from his newly signed teammate Renaud Savoya who finished only 5 seconds down on Ty after being held off by traffic. Serpent’s Mike Truhe rounded out the podium in 3rd. Dylan Rodriquez and Cody King came in 4th and 5th respectively. The Nitro Truggy class then was a bit of relief for Reno as took the win in the A-main from Mike Truhe.

The recent Gun Smoke Classic race held at IERC Raceway in San Bernardino, CA saw a tight battle of Lucas Sanford, David Jenson and Brian Sullivan over the top spots in the 1/8th E-Buggy class. Brian Sullivan had a very good run in the first heat taking the TQ but Lucas Sandford would take the overall TQ in Rd1 by 2 seconds and a near perfect run. In Q2, David Jenson pressed hard for the entire race, but Sanford had another great run taking the win. Sanfords 2nd round TQ meant he would not have to race the third qualifier, and would start on the pole for Sunday’s A-mains, with Eric McNeil 2nd and Brian Sullivan 3rd.

The 2014 East Coast Offroad Series tools place over six races and travels the corners of North and South Carolina while offering nitro and electric classes in both 1/10th and 1/8th scales. Andrew Poole swept the 2WD Buggy, 2WD SC and 1/8th E-Buggy classes to take a triple in this year’s series. Teammate Brandon Melton was also able to attend select events and put his Team Associated car in the victory lane, but missing out on a few events dissolved any chances of an overall championship. Chris Pace was able to take the runner-up spot, despite a misfortune with a transponder not counting a few laps. Unfortunately for Pace, the series director chose to award him with a ninth place finish rather than third, taking away points that would have given him the overall championship.

Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs Missouri held the 4th Annual JConcepts Invitational and Winter Indoor Shootout. This year’s event had one of the best classes of the Invitational, the Reedy format of 5 main events of 2WD on Saturday and 5 main events of 4WD on Sunday with a control tire being JConcepts Dirt Webs in Green compound. The open classes being ran in the standard format of 4 rounds of qualifying using qual points. Friday’s practice had all of the drivers getting laps in on the fun flowing circuit built just for this event. With 2 bowl turns, and a lot of elevation changes, this year’s track was fun to get around in both Stock and Modified.

AKA welcome UK young gun, Jack Embling, to the team for the 2015 season. At 17 years young, Jack has already established himself as one of the fastest racers to hail from the United Kingdom. Jack will race with AKA rubber in both 1/8th and 1/10th off-road and has the following to say:
I would like to thank AKA for giving me the opportunity to race with them in 2015. Following some testing with my Mugen the AKA’s were fast and easy to drive so I am really excited for next season. It’s going to be a privilege to be working with a quality brand and team. I had a great 2014 season and will continue to work hard in my racing to achieve even better results. HB announce that American racer JJ Wang has extended his contract to race wit the electric on-road and off-road racing team through to 2016. Now a veteran member of the HB-HPI Racing on-road racing team, JJ has been helping develop the new HB Pro 5 with the help of HB designers and teammate Andy Moore. JJ has also been campaigning the HB D413 at off-road tracks around the world. This is what JJ has to say about the deal:
I am very happy and excited to be able to continue with HB-HPI Racing for the upcoming season. I want to thank the team for providing me with this opportunity and I cant wait to continue racing with the best team and have another enjoyable season.
