Patrick Hofer sweeps Swiss off-road nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Swiss electric off-road nationals was held at the Umwelten Arena in Spreitenbach on a medium-bite carpet track with 120 drivers in attendance. Team Associated/Reedy’s Patrick Hofer swept both the 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy classes after taking the TQ in the 4WD class and starting from the 2nd place on the grid in 2WD. In 4WD Patrick was sidelined on the podium by Milan Steiner (Team Durango/Team Orion) and Peter Forster (Yokomo/Nosram), while Nico Schmid (Yokomo/Hope Modellbau) and Gregi Gassmann completed in the podium in the 2WD class.

Kennie Ekenstierna takes 1/8 Off-road Swedish Cup

The Swedish 1/8th Off-road Cup was run last weekend at the technical multi-surface track of Höör. Rainy weather on Saturday morning meant the organisers had to skip the first round of practice in order to prepare the track. The qualifying saw a battle between Christoffer Svensson, Johan Balsberg and Kennie Ekenstierna with the better end for Kennie who scored two round wins and ultimately set the fastest time to take TQ.

Robert Batlle takes Spanish E-Buggy nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the Spanish 1/8th E-Buggy national championship was run at the dusty Sant Joan de Moro track. In the final Robert Batlle (Mugen) came out successful in front of Agama’s Dani Vega and Serpent’s Sergio Martinez. Tony Alcala (Serpent), Akejandro Daras (SOAR) and Dani Garcia (Serpent) completed the top 6 result.

The 3rd round of the French 1/8th off-road championship was run in Pertuis in the South of France last weekend. Kyosho’s Jerome Aigoin took the win from Renaud Savoya (Xray) while Julien Lattanzio (Mugen) came in 3rd position.

Andrea Di Cecco wins at Triveneto regional champs

The Regional Championship of Triveneto AMSCI was held at the beautiful but slippery track of Eraclea near Venice. JQ Products driver Andrea Di Cecco (JQ/Reds/AKA) took TQ from Roberto Vidotto (Mugen/Reds/AKA) and Davide Ongaro (Mugen/Novarossi/Procircuit). In the Main, after an unfortunate start, the loss of several positions and precious seconds, Andrea began to make constant fast laps without any mistakes and he eventually took over the lead without losing it till the end of the race. Roberto Vidotto (Mugen/Reds/AKA) came in 2nd while Federico DeMarco (Mugen/Reds/AKA) completed the top 3 result.

Kyle McBride doubles at ACT State Championships

The Australian ACT State Championships was hosted in Canberra, attracting all of Australia’s best drivers from across the country with around 150 entries for the weekend. The track is always known for having an amazing groove and technical/fun layout. Kyosho’s Kyle McBride started off the weekend well managing to pick up the overall TQ both the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy class. He started off pole position for the main finals and managed to create a gap at the start and pull away in both finals. He ended the finals with a lap up on 2nd place in both classes and the rest of the field and took the state championship for both classes this year.

Robert Batlle wins Spanish nitro off-road nationals Rd2

The 2nd round of the Spanish nitro off-road nationals took place last weekend at the Santa Oliva track. Despite coming late to the starting grid of the final due to a supposed receiver battery connector issue, Mugen’s Robert Batlle took his Novarossi-powered buggy to a convincing win. Bryan Baldo (Mugen/Novarossi) with a flame out and Andres Marcelino (RB/RB) lined up behind. Carlos Pineda (Mugen/Ultimate) and Jaume Figuls (Mugen/Alpha) completed the top 5 result.
