Tekin welcome Elliott Boots to their factory team. Elliott is know as being one of the fastest drivers in the World and will help showcase Tekin’s latest 1/8th and 1/10th speed controllers during his upcoming campaign. Elliott is already debuting his Tekin-powered Kyosho cars this weekend and will soon also come to the states to race at the Dirt Nitro Challenge as well.

The inaugural Keilor Invitational was run in conjunction with this year Stock Shootout at the famous Keilor Club located in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The event, held on the same weekend as the historic Reedy Race in the USA, was run to a similar format with the top 10 drivers from Victoria invited for 10 heads up races for 2WD on Saturday and 4WD on Sunday. Control tires for this event were a choice of AKA Rebar in Soft Compound or J Concepts Car Codes in Orange Compound and competitors were also limited to three sets of tires per day. Invitational drivers included Ray Munday (Team Associated), Andrew Selvaggi (Team Associated), Scott Rawlings (Yokomo), Mark Rogers (Yokomo), Glen Bonetti (Team Associated), Scott Cameron (Team C), Jai Davis (Yokomo), Ash Peeler (Kyosho), Ben Sterling (Kyosho) and John Watkins (Xray).

Mugen Seiki Europe announce the Mugen Seiki Challenge that will be held in Lyon, France on the weekend of the 22nd of June. Hosted by the CAMSE club in Saint Exupéry, close to the Lyon airport, the race will be run in electric and nitro buggy and truggy classes and sees only one rule: “Drive your Mugen”. Xray announce that Nordic on-road racer and multiple Swedish national champion Magnus Vässmar will continue to race with the team in 2014. Magnus will race electric touring car as well as 1/10th off-road and plans to attend at the IFMAR World and EFRA European Championships, the ETS series, LRP TCM, IIC Vegas and of course many national races. This is what Magnus has to say about the deal:
I am very happy to re-sign with Xray because I feel that the team as a whole has been working very well together. The T4 car is a great development in the right direction and also the new XB4 buggy has very promising future. My personal goals is to step it up even more and aim for higher results and compete as much as I can in touring cars and also 1/10th buggy. Every January for the past 5 years, the Keilor club in Melbourne have hosted the ‘Stock Shootout’, an event exclusively for 17.5T buggies and 10.5T trucks. 66 entries were received for this unique event, which was held on a brand new track layout the club members had worked hard to complete over the New Year break. The layout had fast sweepers, technical infield, big elevation changes and a challenging jump rhythm section to test man and machine. With no practice before the event, there was no home club advantage and with strong competition in all classes it was an intense weekend of racing.

Bittydesign have announced the 2014 running of their Euro Contest, an event born in 2009 with a successful race format with the focus on fun. The Contest is different event, the atmosphere during the race is magic, a big party with music and hot girls. The Barco-Off racetrack continues to host the event, completely re-built in 2012 the layout of the circuit presents a huge amount of dirt that make the driving experience unique and never seen before in Italy in a permanent outdoor facility, a real American style available for drivers at all levels and only 1 hour from Bologna airport. The event will run from the 27th to the 29th of June 2014 and is limited to 192 drivers. A 3 day format, Friday sees free practice, Saturday qualification with Sunday used for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) followed by Superpole and finals. Full details can be found here.
Lali Warehouse, being the one and only indoor off-road track in Hong Kong, held their first nitro buggy point race on the 26th of Jan for the year 2014 and new TLR signing Lin Le Lua sent us this report. ‘A month prior to the event, Lali had change the lay out of the track and it prove to be challenging and fun at the same time. I have heard great things about the new layout and I cannot wait to join this race as a driver for TLR. Although very close by from where I live in China, it still took us around 3 hours to get to the track, but when we first arrive and have our eyes on the track, everything’s worth it! We are welcome by a bunch of jumps and elevation change means the lay out are really exciting and not to mention a very warm welcome from the locals, we are so eager to lay down some laps before the race!

FX have announced that the young talented French driver Lorenzo Crolla joins the FX team. Lorenzo choose the FX engine to empower his car in the 2014 season which will include the Worlds, Euros and French Nationals. Lorenzo had this to say:
I got the chance to test and run some of the very first FX engines and after several races I was fully confident that FX will be my next engine I want to run. I have been running the engine for several months already without any single flame out or any technical failures and the performance is simply amazing. I was very happy when FX approached me to be a factory team driver and I want to thank for this opportunity. I am excited for the 2014 season and at the same time very confident in the engine and I will do all my best.
