Reino & Kirkwood win at 2013 Turkey Classic

110 racers entered into competition at Reo Raceway’s 2013 Turkey Classic during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Reo Raceway opened in 2006 and has since offered a unique racing surface that differs from the norm of highly packed surfaces found at most tracks in the region. In the 1/8th E-buggy class Serpent USA driver Dan Reino took the second place after qualifying and ended on top of the field after the finals. Elsewhere in 2WD Serpent USA’s Jared Kirkwood made use of the tight and tricky track and took the TQ and win with his rear motor Serpent Spyder buggy.

International Indoor Race series Rd2 – Report

International Indoor Race series Rd2 – Report

The second round of the International Indoor Race series took place at the demanding Model Indoor Oss carpet track in the Netherlands. The track was made up from carpet combined with plastic floor and thick astro turf sections making for a good challenge for the drivers from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. In qualifying current 2WD European Champion Jörn Neumann was in control of things setting the fastest times and taking TQ in both the 4WD and 2WD class. In 4WD Jörn was able to conserve his form for the finals and therefore it was more of a race for second and third place as the Team Durango driver simply was too fast for the others. At the end Arie Vos was able to grab the runner-up spot in front of David Pauwels who secured himself the last remaining podium spot.

Bruno Coelho wins Madeira Cup Rd1

Bruno Coelho wins Madeira Cup Rd1

The first Madeira Cup was held at the Madeira Island Off Road track. With most of the participants being on-road racers Xray’s Bruno Coelho, who was invited to assist with car and engine set-up, had loads of work to do. After Saturday’s practice rounds the track was pretty beat-up but the conditions where the same for everyone and it was no surprise that Bruno Coelho took TQ after the qualifiers as he was the most experienced buggy racers on the track. Right from the start of the 45 minute final Bruno took off and never looked back taking the race win one lap ahead of Joao Figueiredo with Vitor Sousa completing the podium in 3rd position.
