Exotek have released some new items for the Kyosho RB6 and Durango DEX210 and DESC210. For the Durango cars they each have a new heavy duty 4mm carbon fiber shock tower set with machined alloy camber link mounts. Much stiffer and stronger then the stock versions. For the RB6 is this high strength 7075 alloy steering rack. Precision machined and finished in polished Kyosho red it sports laser etched Exotek logo for that factory look.
Round 1 of the Schumacher Masters indoor race at the fantastic Worksop facility took place last weekend. The day hit it off with a great entry of over 160 Drivers competing, all using the Schumacher yellow mini pin control tyre. In 2wd qualifying Greg Williams produced a nice surprise by setting Round 1 TQ with a rear motored Cougar SVR on the slippery indoor surface. Neil Cragg Set overall TQ for the day with Schumacher drivers Simon Moss, Tom Cockerill, Greg Williams Lloyd Storey and Eugene Galley all in the top ten. In the final Paul Bradby took the honours from Nathan Waters and Neil.

The opening round of the Mibosport Cup takes place next weekend in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. The event which is open to both on road and off road classes on 2 tracks in the one hall, has already attracted over 90 entries including a strong entry from the Xray team with Martin and Juraj confirmed with Martin Bayer set to run the all new Xray EP buggy at the event. One of the stars of last weekend’s ETS Dominic Vogl is also set to compete with the Awesomatix along with top Czech drivers, Michal Bok, Marek Cerny and Radek Flek. With 197 participants during the season the Bawü Cup is one of Germany’s biggest Off-Road racing series. The 6th and final round took place at Großheubach recently which attracted only 80 drivers this time because of the bad weather forecast. Sonic engines driver Ralf “Bombe” Dennenmoser dominated the event TQ’ing both the truggy and the buggy class as well as winning both semi finals and finals. In the truggy class he managed to do 11 minute pit-stops which gave him a big advantage over the other competitors. He won the 20min semi-final by 3 laps and also in the final he was 3 laps in front after 20min. Unfortunately he had a small technical problem but as he was fast enough he crossed the finishing line one lap in front of the second placed driver.

The Southern Nationals took place in West Monroe, Louisiana in a huge indoor facility with a track that sported lots of elevation changes and big jumps. After three rounds of qualifying Ryan Lutz took TQ with Josh Wheeler in second position. The main started off good and it was a follow the leader show with Lutz and Wheeler for 15 minutes. Josh was doing his best to stay right with Lutz and pulled a good lead before a battle started. They were able to put themselves in front with a lead of about 15 second when Lutz broke and Wheeler took the lead. Jason Branham was now in second with the rest of the field behind him. Josh maintained a good lead until the second to the last pit stop when a crash and corner marshal failure cost him 17 seconds on his pit stop. This gave Branham the lead and a battle until the end started. Jason and Wheeler would battle until the last lap when Jason crashed and gave Wheeler the lead and the win. Kurt Kellum also had a great performance in the truggy main and fought his way to 3rd at the end.

The 2012 Reedy Truck Race of Champions was held at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California and the event brought in over 140 entries from SoCal’s best truck drivers. In the Modified Truck class, it was Team Orion/Kyosho’s Drew Moller who would TQ rounds 1 and 3 to take the overall TQ for the class. Come the finals he was in a close battle with TLR’s Mike Truhe who both scored a first and second place in the finals. Therefore A main number three would decide the 2012 title win and it was Drew Moller who lead from the first lap taking the win in the important final race and also the 2012 Reedy Truck Race of Champions title. Mike Truhe came in second with Kody Numedahl completing the podium.

Revolution Design Racing Products have signed Czech off-road talent Kaja Novotny to their world-wide team of drivers. Kaja started his racing career back in 2004 at the age of 8 and has since been not only the youngest winner of a racing series in the Czech Republic but he also won several Czech Junior titles in 1/18th and 1/10th Touring Car as well as 1/10th Off-Road. His biggest victories so far include the overall win of the 2008/2009 Czech Stock and Modified Touring Car Cup, the 2011 Czech Off-Road Cup (2WD & 4WD), the 2011/2012 Winter Mibosport Cup (2WD & 4WD), the 2012 Czech 2WD Off-Road National Champs and the Summer Mibosport Cup (2WD & 4WD). Kaja also is a regular participant of the highly competitive Euro Offroad Series and took the overall 9th position in 4WD and overall 5th position in SC 4WD during his 2011/2012 campaign.

Last weekend saw the 4th and final round of the Spanish 1/8 Off Road Nats take place in Silla (Valencia). Rain on Friday stopped action on track but helped to eliminate the dust from the track and increase the grip, leaving a very nice surface for Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Robert Batlle took the TQ spot followed by Andrés Marcelino and Borja Hernández. The ‘A’ semi final was also won by Robert Batlle while rising star Ignacio Candel took the ‘B’ semi final, which mirrored the final result with Borja Hernandez completing the top 3. With this victory Batlle takes a clean sweep of the 2012 Nationals and wins 5 series in a row.
