They boasted almost 300 entries with drivers like Lee Martin, the current European Champion, Tom Cockerill from UK, Scott Brown from the US and Michael Schoettler also from the US. Team Associated Scott Brown and Michael Scheottler set the early pace in the practice heats in all five classes they entered, 2WD Modified, Truck Modified, 4WD Modified, 2WD Short Course, and 4WD Short Course. Chris Bridgewater at ROAR Region 11 champs

This year’s ROAR Region 11 off-road championships were held by Tri-Cities RC in Pasco, WA. With temperatures reaching triple digits, the fresh track layout firmed up quickly and allowed a groove to build quickly during practice. However, late night thunderstorms washed a majority of the groove away, and caused a rain delay Saturday morning. Once the rain had concluded Saturday morning, the track crew had the track ready to go and racing was underway. After 4 rounds of qualifying, Team Associated sat on top in 4WD Modified and Truck Modified, held by Associated driver Chris Bridgewater. Modified 2WD SC TQ was held by privateer Tim Hethcox. Sunday’s main events brought more domination from Team Associated in the Modified classes,  with Associated’s Chris Bridgewater taking home the win in Modified 2WD, Modified 4WD, and Modified Truck. Privateer Tim Hethcox also sealed up the win in 2WD Modified Short Course.

Neil Cragg dominates oOple Invernational

The oOple Invernational was held this past weekend at Robinhood Raceway in the central part of England. On most people’s radar at this time for the 2012 Summer Olympics, English racers looked for a reason to get away from the hustle of downtown London and instead convened in the heart of the island country. Making the trip for Team Associated and Reedy was 2005 IFMAR 2WD World Champion and 2011 IFMAR 2WD World Championship Top Qualifier Neil Cragg. Well attended by fellow pro drivers and many club racers, the RHR facility was primed for a great event. In qualifying, Neil Cragg took his Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team B4.1 and B44.1 to the double TQ positions. The main events went much like qualifying, with Neil’s Team Associated vehicles getting a double victory.
