Tekno RC announce Tebo departure

Tekno RC has announced the departure of Jared Tebo from its factory team.  The move was much anticipated when the American offroad manufacturer announced the signing of Ryan Maifield last month.  Tebo joined Tekno four years ago after being the main face of Kyosho for many years and put the smaller brand into the mainstream with plenty of successes in that time, most notably the 2019 Reedy Race of Champions.  Making his own follow up announcement on social media thanking Tekno for ‘the journey’, Tebo revealed the announcement came sooner than planned adding he had hoped to retire with the brand.  As yet no announcement has been made on his future plans but he did clarify he will continue his racing career in 2023.  Announcing his departure, Tekno said, ‘The end of the year is almost here and with it brings a change to our team. Jared Tebo will no longer be representing Tekno RC after 2022. We’ve had four excellent and memorable years with Jared.  We enjoyed learning and improving together as well as celebrating some big wins. Piloting his various Tekno RC vehicles, he reached the top step of the podium 17 times at major events across the country. Add another 28 major event podium finishes along with a decent stint as the #1 driver in the world according to Top25.com, it becomes apparent that his time at Tekno RC has been very successful. We would like to thank Jared for all of his positive contributions to Tekno RC, on and off the track. We wish him the best in the next chapter. Thanks, Jared!!!’

Orlowski doubles at Race Stars Contest

Michal Orlowski’s internationals travels for 2022 may be finished but the factory Schumacher driver made the most of being back home in Poland to take the double win at Race Stars Contest ’22.  Held in the centre of the country at the Sports Arena in Zgierz, the race attracted an international entry.  In qualifying Orlowski would take the TQ for both 2WD and 4WD from Sworkz Micha Widmaier, with third going to Bartek Zambrzycki in 2WD and Bartosz Zalewski in 4WD.  In the triple A-Mains, 2WD would see Orlowski chased to the win by Widmaier with the Serpent of Sweden’s Elias Johansson coming through from P4 on the grid to complete the podium thanks to a win in A3.  In 4WD, while Orlowski was in control out front, behind Zalewski, after a bad A1, managed to get his Xray passed Widmaier in A2, before going on to win A3 for second overall ahead of the German.

I’ve done quite a bit of testing, and I can say I’m pretty stoked on the existing compounds and tread patterns. Happy to work with a hard working dude like Nick Hernandez, who believes in making the best tires. When I first contacted Nick a few months ago, he didn’t hesitate sending me stuff to test, and once hearing his attitude, driven mentality, and some on track testing, it was a wrap. He’s been working hard, and I look forward to representing a brand that is motivated in bringing the best of the best and doing what it takes to make it happen. Thanks for the opportunity and stay tuned, more goodies coming in the near future as well!”.
