Tanner Denney joins SWorkz factory team

SWorkz have announced that top US racer Tanner Denney is joining their team for the next years. Tanner will race SWorkz cars in 1/8 and 1/10 offroad. He had this to say ‘I would like to thank Max and Georg at SWorkz for the incredible opportunity, and the warm welcome. Marco Baruffolo joins Tekno RC

Tekno RC have announced the addition of Italian front-runner Marco Baruffolo to the Tekno RC family. Marco will be racing their full line of vehicles at major events throughout the world and together with their International Team Manager Ilias Arkoudaris, Marco will restart Tekno RC’s European racing presence after International R/C competition was brought to a near halt by the pandemic. The multiple National Champion said, ‘I am really excited to take part at TeknoRC family! Thanks to Daniel and Ilias for this awesome opportunity, I will do my best!’

Moon & Brown win at EssexCarpetClash Rd3

Last weekend was round 3 of EssexCarpetClash4 and the drivers arrived to find a track layout that was to test a lot of people’s skills on track. A little more technical from previous rounds and included a cross over, but getting the lap correct would pay dividends on the timing sheet. In 2wd, Ellis Stafford found his feet easily taking the 1st 2 rounds and looked comfortable to take pole. Kyle moon had other thoughts and would take the last 2 rounds and took pole position having had a better time, demoting Stafford to the 2 spot. Harley Eldridge lined up 3rd ahead of Richard Gasson who had a good qualifying.

Antonia Kovalszki joins SWorkz junior factory team

SWorkz have announced the signing of top young Austrian driver Antonia Kovalszki to their junior factory team. She will run SWorkz 1/10 and 1/8 cars in the next years. On the deal, Sworkz’ team manager Max Sonnleitner said ‘I am extremely happy that Antonia has chosen SWorkz for her future home. For sure she is one of the greatest female talents in RC.’

Alexander Landén dominates Rd3 & overall Swedish Cup

Last weekend it was time for the final round of the Swedish National Cup in tenth scale buggy. This year three rounds were run to crown the Champion and the third and final round was organised by Karlskrona MRK and was held at the great DR Racing arena in the small town of Kallinge. In 2wd qualifying it was straight away obvious that Alexander Landén (AE/Hobbywing) had the pace, in the first round he was the only one posting a 17 lap run. Behind Alexander his team-mate Nils Gustafsson (AE/Reedy) was battling it out with Hampus Berg (HB/Performa). In the end Alexander managed to TQ all four rounds of qualifying and Hampus edged out Nils to reach the runner up spot for the triple mains.

Pelle Culmsee joins the Xray Racing Team

Xray have announced that Danish driver Pelle Culmsee is joining the Xray Racing Team to race the XB8 and XT8 platforms. The former SWorkz driver had the following to say ‘I am very grateful to be a part of the Xray Team. The cars and products have always been top quality and performed at a top level. I cant wait to hit the track with my new XRAY cars. I want to say big thank you to XRAY team and Claus Ryeskov for making this happened’.

Schumacher Indoor Masters Rd2 – Report

This past weekend was the second round of the fantastic Worksop series, as always there was a great entry of drivers present. All abilities are welcome at this series, so they had Pro’s in attendance all the way through to new starters and even some people coming back to the hobby after 20 years away. The race format was round by round qualifying, with the best 2 results from 4 rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. The Worksop team had designed a fantastic track layout for this event, some great off road features were built including the wall of death. As always this is very popular with racers due to new features and jumps being built fresh for these events. In 2wd qualifying, it was Neil Cragg who dominated proceedings by taking TQ in all 4 rounds, therefore he would line up on pole. Tommy Hall would be 2nd and Edward Callan would line up 3rd.

Stafford & Brown on top at EssexCarpetClash Rd2

Round 2 of EssexCarpetClash4 took place last weekend. A fun track greeted the drivers in the morning and with the ‘slippery section’ proving to be quite challenging. In 4wd, Stephen Brown dominated qualifying topping the sheets in all four qualifiers. John Painter took the two spot ready for the finals, with David Orbell behind. 2wd saw a tussle between Ellis Stafford and Kyle Moon in each heat, with Stafford just edging the runs. Stephen Brown was also in the battle, placing good round scores to line up 3rd on the grid ahead of Christopher Delves Delves.
