Thunder Alley nearing completion for ROAR Nats

Thunder Alley nearing completion for ROAR Nats

Rob Jackson over at Thunder Alley RC Raceway dropped us a mail to let us know that the track layout for the ROAR Off road 8th scale fuel nationals is almost complete. The event which starts on the 31st of May and runs through to the 5th of June is one of this year’s most anticipated events and Thunder Alley are building a track to match. They presented a very challenging layout during the warmup race back in April and the new track will be equally tricky with lots of elevation changes as well as plenty of step ups and drop downs. You can follow Red RC’s coverage of this race on our events page from day 1.

Denney, Kinwald & Theyer take Battle in the Desert Rd1

Denney, Kinwald & Theyer take Battle in the Desert Rd1

The Battle in the Desert series kicked off round 1 at SRS Raceway in Scottsdale, AZ. In the 2wd modified class Tanner Denney sat on the TQ position with Jake “Jackie” Thayer 2nd and Brian Kinwald 3rd. As the main kicked off it was Denney taking advantage of a great start and placing his JConcepts equipped B4.1 out front.  Kinwald moved into second and within striking distance but Tanner put in a complete race and crossed the finish taking a well deserved win. Dirtinator himself, Brian Kinwald finished 2nd and Billy Fischer 3rd making it a top 3 sweep for JConcepts, Punisher, Double Dees and Groovy products. Moving into modified truck, Brian Kinwald looked amazing as his JConcepts equipped, ICON powered T4.1 tackled the technical SRS track with a TQ run in qualifying.  In the main “Dirt” was gone and off into the Sunset for a Modified Truck victory.  JConcepts Punisher body and Double Dees tires finished off the winning ride. Last but not least, Jake Thayer put on a clinic in the 4wd modified class. Jakes favorite vehicle was on rails all day and performed flawlessly by taking the TQ and win in the competitive class.  Jake’s 4wd buggy was outfitted with Punisher body and JConcepts Double Dees throughout.

Phillip Atondo wins Truggy at Nor-Cal Series Rd2

Phillip Atondo wins Truggy at Nor-Cal Series Rd2

Nor-Cal Series Rd2 was held at Delta R/C in Antioch CA recently. The track had an awesome layout of big air and fast wide lanes which made for some great racing. TLR team driver Phillip Atondo would qualify 2nd in pro buggy and TQ pro truggy and all A-mains would be 25 minutes, so anything could happen. Atondo would use the advantage of his TQ and get out to a clean start in pro truggy and never look back ending with a nice one lap lead at the finish to take the overall win. Phillip would also take second place on the podium in Pro Buggy with his new TLR 8ight 2.0 Kit.
