Ryan Maifield triple at 22nd Dirt Nitro Challenge

Ryan Maifield has completed the triple Crown at this year’s Dirt Nitro Challenge, the Mugen/JConcepts driver taking a clean sweep of all the Pro classes. Held at Thunder Alley in California, the 22nd running of the World Famous event, saw little to no foreign entries for the first time in years as Covid prevented teams traveling from abroad. In the Pro Buggy class it was TLR/JConcepts driver Dakotah Phend that would take the pole position ahead of HB Racing’s Cole Ogden. In the final, having starting from 4th, Maifield would use his vast experience as a previous multiple winner of this event, to come through and win ahead of Ogden in 2nd with Mugen driver Tanner Denney completing the podium in 3rd. Pro E Buggy again saw Phend on the pole position, but again was unable to convert his front starting spot into the win as Maifield took the overall win ahead of his JConcepts’ team mate Phend in 2nd, with the Team Associated of Spencer Rivkin bringing it home in 3rd. In the Pro Truggy it was more of the same as Phend would again capture the overall TQ but be passed by Maifield in the 45 minute final for the win, Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst would work his way up from the 11th place starting position to capture the final podium spot.

Nemo Racing USA sign Broc Champlin

Nemo Racing USA and Agama have announced that Broc Champlin has joined their factory race team for 2021. Broc will be running the Agama cars under the Nemo Racing flag at events all over the country. Nemo USA boss, Billy Tylaska said ‘We are super stoked to have an ace driver like Broc join our team. Broc was put firmly on my radar at the 2019 ROAR Nationals when he had a long nice battle with Ryan Lutz in the main final. Excited to see what he will do with our cars and can’t wait to get out there with him.’ And from Broc about inking this deal:

I am ecstatic about being able to run for Nemo Racing and Agama in 2021. Billy Tylaska has helped me a ton getting started and I found a groove with the product very quickly. The C-Hub catches my eye so I chased what I felt would be the best. Multiple brands now have that either as their standard, or an option. The Agama cars are very easily tuned and drive like Cadillac’s and that is exactly what I want and need in order to better myself in the 1/8th scale department. I believe in all of the platforms, the staff, and myself, that I can do great things with Agama Racing Products. Thank you everyone at Nemo Racing, excited for 2021.
