Lee Martin does double with 4wd BRCA National win

Again oOple are reporting that Lee Martin sealed up a near perfect start to the 2010 BRCA 1/10th off road national series with a second day of outstanding racing giving him TQ and the win in all three legs of the A final to go along with his 2WD win the previous day. Tamiya TRF driver Lee Martin moved from Associated earlier this year, a decision which appears to be paying off, leaving round 1 in Talywain with perfect result in both classes. ROAR adopts IFMAR ladder main system

ROAR

As posted in the Nationals Guidelines regarding fuel classes ladder main system, ROAR has adopted the IFMAR style of ladder mains for the respective fuel on-road and fuel off-road classes. The qualifying procedures and seeding for the finals will follow the current IFMAR formats for each class.

Billy Easton wins Florida State Series Rd6

Pro-line are reporting on last weekend’s 6th round of the Florida State Off-Road Nitro Series were they took the win in both pro classes. In 1:8th buggy, team drivers Billy Easton and Leon McIntosh had great showings in the highly contested Pro A-main. It was all Billy Easton dominating the race and taking the win with the Serpent S811 with a lap on the field using M2 Calibers with closed cell foam. Leon had a great battle for 2nd with Jason Rouna for the entire 30 minute main. In the end though, Jason took the runner up spot, while Leon crossed the line in 3rd opting to use the softer M3 Caliber tires with blue closed cell foam.

Team Tekin dominate April Fools Classic

Team Tekin dominate April Fools Classic

Team Tekin are reporting on the recently held 22nd annual April Fools Classic held at IRCR in Magna Utah. Team driver Tony Newland TQ’d and won the 13.5 SS truck class using the RS Pro and Tekin Redline 13.5 motor, while team manager Randy Pike also TQ’d 17.5 truck using the RS Pro and Redline 17.5 motor. Privateer driver and local Aaron TQ’d and won the Pro 4 SCT division running a Tekin RS Pro, followed in 2nd position by Tekin’s own Ty “Strapped up” Campbell. 17.5 2wd Buggy was also TQ’d and won by local Kyle Rieger using a Tekin RS, while Lloyd Dasonville also picked up a 3rd place in factory mod truck running a Tekn Rs Pro and 7.5 Redline motor in his new TQ Racing ride. And we can’t leave out the Tekin Prez aka Jim “Prez” Campbell picked up a 3rd place in the hotly contested masters truck class running a Tekin RS Pro and 13.5 Redline motor.

Two updates from US governing body ROAR. The first relates back to what we previously wrote about regarding the new trend of body shells that sport forward mounted cockpits, and states that amongst other things the new Pro-Line Bull Dog buggy body is not allowed to be used at this years ROAR fuel off-road Nationals (further details here). ROAR have also announced the 2010 competition classes to be contested at the 2010 ROAR Electric on-road paved national championship. This year’s class structure will include a new concept in ROAR National championship racing, the sportsman touring car class that will use a named list of ESC’s and 17.5 brushless motors to provide a fair and even playing field and the reduction in speeds ROAR members have been asking for. The traditional stock division has been replaced by the expert division and the modified division has been replaced by the open division.

ROAR Electric Off-Road Nationals update

ROAR today announced the 2010 competition and exhibition classes to be contested at the 2010 Electric off-road national championship. The class structure is a return to stock and open tradition of buggy and truck, while 4wd buggy will compete as an open division. Two new championship crowns will be awarded for 2wd short course truck in both stock and open divisions with the 4×4 short course truck debuting as a demonstration class.

Stock divisions will race using the ROAR sportsman participant national guidelines (PDF) and 17.5 brushless motor specifications. Open divisions can utilize any 1:10 class motor approved and published on the ROAR products listing 14 days prior to the start of the event. The 2010 ROAR off-road national championship is scheduled for August 19-22, 2010 hosted by Leisure Hours R/C Raceway in Joliet, Illinois USA. Team C Racing double at ACE Cup

Team C Racing double at ACE Cup

Team C Racing are reporting on their success last weekend at the ACE Cup in Shanghai, China. The event was open to racers across 3 different classes, 1/10th 2wd buggy, 1/10th 4wd buggy and 1/8th electric buggy and it was the Team C TC04 4wd buggy that TQ’d the 4wd class in the hands of Tommy, while team mate Lam took the win for the car with Tommy finishing 2nd, while Jerry rounded out the top 3. In the 2wd class Lam took the TQ and win with the TC02, while Jerry took 2nd and Tommy 3rd.

Tom & Jochen Wiesner join Team SMI

Tom & Jochen Wiesner join Team SMI

SMI Motorsport have announced that father and son team, Tom and Jochen Wiesner, have both made the switch to use Xray cars, Hudy accessories as well as the complete SMI / Orcan range including engines, fuel and maintenance products. They will both compete regionally, in the Mid division (Hessencup), as well as in the German championship in Sand and Fischach. Both, Tom and Jochen Wiesner, are very experienced and successful racers and had the following to say about the deal:
