2022 Speed King Tour Rd1 – Report

With the Speed King Tour in 2021 only managing to run two rounds because of Covid-19, the organizer decided to start the series again in 2022. The first round of Speed King Tour 2022 was held at Super Rajikon Saitama Omiya indoor tarmac recently. The race class names and regulations changed a bit, with the modified class becoming TC0, Stock class became TC1 and the TC2 class for amateur racers was previously the Super Stock class with only G Force ESC and motor being used. Following three rounds of Modified class qualifying, Rush/Axon driver Hayato Ishioka took TQ with his Yokomo/Axon TC10/2. Super Rajikon Saitama Omiya shop staff Kazuma Murai drove the same car as Hayato and got second position while Rush/Infinity driver Jin Sawada took third.

FSEARA Rd6 Valkaria RC Raceway – Report

Racing was back once again at the Valkaria RC Raceway for Rd6 of the FSEARA series last weekend. Due to the increased interest and popular demand in order to practice this year’s ROAR Regionals and Nationals, FSEARA revisit Valkaria for the 2nd time this season. This race is also considered the warm up event for the ROAR Regional due to the timeline of the event. With a solid 104 entries for the event, it was once again a successful turn out for this round. The highlight of the battle for the weekend was for sure in 17.5 TC. Infinity Driver Dave Vera, also our series director, leading the pack with his strongest performance yet. TQ both rounds of the qualifier without a sweat. With a brand new setup to his car, he was able to reset the qualifying record for this track hitting the first 27 lap run in Valkaria. A famous old school nitro racer also driving the Mugen MTC2 Danny Horta also joined the EP scene. Having an excellent weekend and able to qualify just ahead of series veteran Brian Larkin.

2022 MonacoRC Race of Champions – Report

This past weekend MonacoRC organised the first ROC (Race Of Champions) organised in at the Monacorc Arena Ciserano in Italy. This first race took place on one of the best indoor asphalt tracks in Italy where the high grip and perfect curbing makes this place fantastic. The target of ROC is not only about racing, MonacoRC also organised customer support, having one representative present from many of the big brands in the RC market such as Xray, LRP, Hudy, Xtreme Aerodynamics, HotRace, Marka and many others, providing the best support to every driver present. The race schedule was made on time having a live stream with 4 different cameras on the track so everyone was able to follow this great race around the world that had 10 different nationalities of drivers present in 5 classes FWD, N22, F1, Stock EFRA and Modified.

Chris Velez joins Reds Racing EP team

Reds Racing are excited to announce the addition of Chris Velez to their 2022 Electric Onroad Factory Team. Chris is a long time member of the onroad community in California and is the 2021 nitro onroad National Champion.

2022 BRCA 1/12th Rd5 & Rd6 report

Rounds 5 and 6 of the BRCA 12th Circuit Nationals were held last weekend in Chesterfield. There were classes for GT12 and LMP12 cars with the LMP12 class running stock 13.5 motors. The Chesterfield club laid a large flowing track with a variety of corners and a few technical challenges. A capacity entry of 90 drivers across the two classes would compete over the two days. The format for the day was a round of open practice, 4 rounds of FTD qualifying and 1 final for all the drivers. Of the three Championships taking place this season only the GT12 championship had been decided at the start of this weekend. In GT12, the current champion, Dan Robins would again line up for the final in pole position ahead of Mark Fitsimmons and Mark Jewitt. It wasn’t to be this time for Dan with Mark Jewitt executing a brilliant pass in the dying laps to take the win. Dan would finish second ahead of James Taylor who had qualified in fourth place.

Urbain wins EWS Finale

The final round of the 2021-2022 Essex Winter Series took place this weekend. Although the championship had been wrapped up in the Modified and Super Stock classes, it was far from decided in the Sportsman Stock and Front Wheel Drive categories as the 10th Anniversary Season came to a close. The Modified class saw two popular European racers join the field, Sweden’s Alexander Hagberg and France’s Lucas Urbain, but it was already-crowned champion Kyle Branson who set the pace in Q1 for Xray, narrowly ahead of Lucas’s Awesomatix. Q2 saw Lucas move to the top, with Alexander the quickest Xray in second, and Kyle dropping to third, before Q3 saw Alexander take his turn at the top ahead of Lucas and Kyle, the top three again being covered by less than 2 seconds. This set up a showdown for pole, with Lucas eventually coming out on top after taking the final round ahead of Kyle – but Alexander lined up second thanks to his better time from Q3.

2022 Italian TC Championships Rd1 – Report

The first round of the 2022 edition of the Italian Championships dedicated to touring car classes took place at the indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano. In 2022 the National titles, presented by the Italian RC Car Racing Federation ACI Sport, will be held over 3 rounds (Indoor and Outdoor). In TC Modified, Mattia Collina (Team Schumacher) took both TQ and the overall win ahead of Alessio Tolomelli (Team Marka) and Carlo Alberto Conti (Team Schumacher).

Haheim & Johannessen win Norwegian Nationals

For the first time Bergen was the host of the Norwegian National Championships in the onroad category. They did a great job giving the racers a perfect event with a super nice layout on the very familiar ETS carpet. This was a 2-days event with 4 qualifiers on Saturday and a 5th qualifier on Sunday, followed by the triple A-mains. In TC Mod it was a pre-race favourite Nikko Haheim who managed to grab the TQ honours, followed by the youngsters Sindre Undheim in 2nd and Ola Lovbrekke in 3rd. The finals were pretty uneventful with Nikko grabbing the first two mains again followed by Sindre and Ola.
