FSEARA Rd7 Flagler RC – Report

The FSEARA was again back to the old school style parking lot races for the first time this season. Chris Crowder was able to build up a steady routine schedule of this parking lot racing for the Daytona locals to participate. With the loss of 386 Raceway, a lot of RC enthusiasts had to travel hours away to race. Special thanks to Chris Crowder and his crew they were able to work with woody BBQ to provide their parking lot for this show to go on. In the Flagler plaza, there are also a Winn-Dixie and Ace Hardware to generate a ton of traffic and spectators. The race atmosphere was exciting with all of the spectators cheering and rooting for their favourite car to crash. All fun and exciting crew of people.

In qualifying Lars could secure the pole position in a convincing way with a new lap record of 13,992s while Merlin lined up second in front of Timo. Also in the main final Lars clocked the fastest times and after 30min he saw the checkered flag in first position. Would a tire change be necessary and if so, all four or only outside? Plenty of options…

The first round of the Swiss Championship took place last weekend in Lostallo. Unfortunately the weather forecast was not good, especially for Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately on Friday the weather was nice and this allowed everyone to find that feeling lost during the winter months. Mattia Pesenti made his return after more than 2 years of absence, debuting with the new FX engine, still in the testing phase.
