World Championship finalist and multiple ETS race winner Yannic Prumper has announced his departure from Team Yokomo.  Making the announcement on his social media, the German posted, ‘After many wonderful years as part of the Yokomo family, it is time for me to bid farewell.  I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such an amazing team.  My time with Yokomo has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I’ll always cherish the memories and experiences we’ve shared.  With Yokomo, I achieved some of my greatest successes, including 3 of my 4 ETS victories.  These milestones would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the team, the amazing cars, and the invaluable guidance I received throughout the years.  A special thank you goes out to my teammates and especially to Christopher, who has always been a constant source of great competition but also a very good friend beside the track.  Your camaraderie and dedication made this journey unforgettable.  Although this chapter is coming to an end, I will always carry Yokomo in my heart and wish the team continued success in the future.  Thank you for everything.’

The Race to Save 1:10 Nitro Touring Car

It is almost three weeks since we crowned one of the most popular winners of a World Championship in recent years.  Jilles Groskamp’s victory at the 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World Championship at Huge RC in Thailand was one which few would begrudge of one of the hardest working drivers in racing.  12-years after his ISTC World Championship win, his win in Bangkok was one of great stories for RC racing, the Dutch master back on top of the World after beating all of the best nitro onroad racers in the World.  However behind all the celebrations, there can be no denying that the 1:10 Nitro Touring Car category is not in great health and faces its greatest race yet, the race to save its future.  Ask any of the drivers who made the effort to take part in the 10th running of the IFMAR World Championship and they’ll all agree.  107 drivers attended the World Championship when the Huge RC Circuit hosted it for the first time in 2014, this time round the entry was only 58.  However as a World Championship at which every driver is competing in the same single class, it is worth putting that number into perspective.  At this year’s ITSC World Championships, Modified had only 2 more entries but it did also have another 60 drivers competing in Spec Touring Car to make it a bigger & viable event.  Last year’s 1:12 Worlds had just 19 Modified entries and was only possible because of the 55 drivers who raced in the Spec Class.

2024 FEMCA ISTC Championship Chassis Focus Index

The 2024 FEMCA ISTC Championship was completed last weekend (December 7-8th) at the GDC Indoor track in Foshan, China were Bruno Coelho took the win. While it was the World Champion who dominated proceedings to add a first FEMCA title to his CV, the very fact he and former World Champion Naoto Matsukura were there racing against Asia’s top drivers was a huge boost for those racers who don’t normally get such an opportunity. While Coelho impressed his rivals on track, even Marc Rheinard, Atsushi Hara and Jilles Groskamp dropping by and watching him set the pace, the hosts impressed Coelho and the rest of the international visitors with a very impressive opening ceremony. Red RC’s first time to attend the FEMCA ISTC Championship, having previously attended the FEMCA 1:8 Offroad Championship, it was an opportunity to photograph the cars of some of the regions leading drivers for our Chassis Focus. With the championship attracting close to 100 entries, we featured 10 cars including the Xray of Chinese National Champion Jerry Dai. We got to put cars from 6 different manufacturers in front of our camera to share the details with touring car fans around the world and now have complied them all into one handy index.
