The second round of the BRCA Scottish GT Regionals took place last weekend at Grampian Radio Car Club near Aberdeen. Qualifying would see John Simpson secure pole with Andrew Edwards in 2nd. These two drivers are previous champions of the series and are currently sitting 2nd and 3rd in the championship so were looking to secure maximum points with the absence of the current series leader. 2018/19 Essex Winter Series Rd4 – Report

This weekend saw the fourth round of the popular Essex Winter Series take place in the UK. As the penultimate round of the series, some of the championships could be decided, but with the high level of competition across all the classes, it was going to be a tough day for everyone in the points chase. In the Modified class, Olly Jefferies ideally needed a maximum points haul to force a showdown for the final round – but Elliott Harper could clinch the championship with a runner-up score, if Olly failed to take home the maximum points. Elliott put together a good first run, taking the top spot by nearly two-and-a-half seconds from his Xray teammate Alexander Hagberg. Olly set the third best time, just a few tenths back on the Swede, with Kyle Branson in fourth for Capricorn and Matthew White taking fifth with his Associated. Round two saw Alexander move to the top, besting his teammate by three-quarters of a second, as both the Xray drivers pulled out a two-second gap to Olly, who again took third, with Kyle and Matthew in fourth and fifth again as well.

Xavier Deparde wins at SITCC Rd3

The SITCC season finale was hosted by the ERMC club and held in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland, attracting a good amount of entries. In the Touring Car class the overall TQ was decided in the final qualifiers when the track was at its fastest. Ultimately it was Xavier Deparde (Xray) with the pole position for the four A-mains. In the opening A-main the top qualifier would be able to get a gap on the field, however towards the end of the run Kevin Zwahlen (HB Racing) was able to close in on Xavier and the two would eventually run door to door for half a lap until Kevin managed to bring home the win. A2 then saw Xavier taking a pretty easy win, a couple of seconds in front of Kevin. A3 was again a pretty tight affair. Kevin and Xavier would pull a gap but it was Xavier who would bring home the win by 1.5 seconds. In the fourth and final A-main again the top 2 would open a gap on the field but Kevin went into an error, meaning Xavier would be able to cruise to the win with Kevin coming in 2nd overall as Cedric Ansermoz (Awesomatix) rounded out the overall top 3.
