With the racing season drawing to a close, the BRCA 1/8th Circuit section headed to the northern venue of Wombwell Model Car Club. 2016 Halloween Classic – Report

2016 Halloween Classic – Report

The 2016 Halloween Classic once again brought in racers from around the U.S. to The Gate in Brunswick, Ohio. The limited space available makes a pitting area a coveted badge of honor as it once again sold out, this year in only about 1 hour after going live for sign ups. Even with the extreme pressure all weekend everybody was having a blast, making new friends, and enjoying the announcing by the fabulous Mr. Chris Goetz. Having fun is the priority at The Gate, which is what helps make this race popular every year. Qualifying was hot and heavy as previous TQs fell in many classes from round 1 to round 4, keeping everyone on their toes and wrenching in the pits to find that something extra. Many former Stock class winners also jumped into the Mod arena in Touring Car while trying the test class of 12th 6.5 blinky.

Jacques Libar takes Luxembourg Nationals opener

Jacques Libar takes Luxembourg Nationals opener

The opening round of the Luxembourg Electric On-road Nationals was hosted by the RCCM club and held at the Turelbach Center in Mertzig. The track was tight and technical with the grip kicking in at a high level once a couple of practice heads had be run. After the triple qualifiers on Sunday Jacques Libar came out on top to take the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. The opening A-main then also went to Jaques after five flawless minutes but A2 was a different affair as an error in the opening stages cost him dearly. He made up for it in the third and decisive main though as he again came out on top to take the overall win with Gilles Choque in second and Dirk Rischard third.

BRCA 1/12 Nationals Rd1 – Report

Last weekend saw the first round of the 2016/17 BRCA 1/12th scale Nationals take place in Eastbourne, UK. The events southern location resulted in a lower turnout than is normal for these events as some drivers from the north of England chose not to make the long trip south. Despite this the event promised to be very competitive with all of the main contenders for the series in attendance. This season sees a change to the classes offered, with a single 13.5T blinky class for everyone on Saturday while on Sunday drivers have a choice of 13.5T blinky and modified, which for this season sees the introduction of a 6.5T motor limit and “blinky” speed controllers.
