Greiner top seed for qualifying at ENS Finale

Dominic Greiner is the top seed for qualifying at the Euro Nitro Series in Fiorano, the title challenger heading a Serpent 1-2 in controlled practice.  Despite having suffered radio problems in the first and fastest of his two runs Greiner would end up over 4/10ths faster than team-mate Alessio Mazzeo.  Spanish driver Eduardo Escandón would complete the Top 3 ahead of World Champion Alexander Hagberg, with Dirk Wischnewski and Bruno Coelho completing the Top 6, all drivers setting the best times in CP1.  The highest placed driver to record his time in CP2 would be Shepherd’s Patrick Nähr who was seventh fastest.  For championship leader Jilles Groskamp his struggles continued as he ended up only 18th fastest with a time set in the slower track conditions of CP2.

Championship leader Balestri sets early Fiorano pace

Euro Nitro Series championship leader Dario Balestri set the pace in free practice at the season finale in Fiorano, Italy. The Capricorn driver set the pace ahead of Shepherd’s Francesco Tironi with title rival Robert Pietsch making a promising start to proceedings on the debut of Mugen’s new MRX-6 with the third fastest time. Defending champion Simon Kurzbuch, who sits just 2-points off Balestri, would post the 4th fastest 3-consecutive laps with his Shepherd. Behind Kurzbuch, the fourth title contender, albeit with a very slim chance, WRC’s Andrea Pirani would set the 5th fastest time.

Greiner sets pace as title rivals struggle

Contenders

Dominic Greiner has ended free practice at the season finale of the Euro Nitro Series at the top of the time sheets while is rivals were less confident about their early form in Italy.  With four drivers coming into the fourth round of the ENS in contention for the title, it is fourth placed Greiner who set the pace from Round 3 winner Dirk Wischnewski.  Of the other title protagonists Bruno Coelho was the closest to Greiner ending the 8 rounds of free practice 5th fastest, 7/10ths off.  Current standings leader Jilles Groskamp finds himself a second of the pace in 12th fastest while HB team-mate Teemu Leino, second in the standings, faired only marginally better ending up 8th as drivers now move into two rounds of timed practice that will determine the heat seeding for qualifying.

ENS Season finale to decide 2015 Champions

Both of this year’s Euro Nitro Series Champions will be decided this weekend (23-25 October) at the world famous Minicar Fiorano circuit in Italy with four drivers in contention for each of the titles.  The fourth & final round of the high profile nitro onroad championship, the conclusion to Season #2 has attracted a record entry of 170 drivers but the focus is on who will lay claim to the prestigious titles come Sunday evening. A season that has seen three different winners from the opening three rounds it is very much all to play for among the title protagonists.

Xray Work.Shop Germany – Announcement

Xray have announced the Xray Work.Shop Germany for the Saturday the 7th of November at the TSV 1871 Augsburg club. Held by Xray factory team driver Marco Kaufmann in cooperation with RC Kleinkram the workshop will focus on individual setup held and driver coaching. Included in the entry fee of 19 Euros is an Xray T-shirt and more information can be found here and also on the hosting club’s Facebook page here.

RCProf Challenge Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Hungarian RCProf Challenge was held at the RC Arena track in Budapest. In the Touring Car 13.5T Stock class Janos Birinyi took the TQ but in the opening A-main Barnabas Toth stroke back with a win after Janos made a mistake. A2 then brought a clean win for Janos, so the decision for the day’s win would fall in the third A-main and it was again Janos who came out successful to take overall victory from Barnabas Toth and Peter Miko.

Sandro Sammarini wins at SRC Trophy

The Italian SRC Trophy was held at the Montegiorgio track in several 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road classes and with a total of 63 drivers in attendance. In the 1/8th category Sandro Sammarini would take the TQ and he also went on to win the A-main event from runner-up Stefano De Rossi and Attilio D’Angelo who would round out the top 3 result.

Marek Kusiakiewicz wins at Polish Indoor Champs

The International Open Polish Indoor Championships were held in Poznan last weekend. Marek Kusiakiewicz (Xray) dominated the qualifying by winning four of the six rounds in the Formula class to take the pole position for the triple A-finals. In the opening A-main Marek had to defend himself against the hard chasing Tomasz Szymanski (Xray) and Daniel Slomski (Xray), but Marek was able to take the win. In the opening stages of A2 Marek made some mistakes, allowing Tom and Daniel by. Marek then had to up his pace to catch up with the front runners but with flawless driving he would take the win and with it the overall title. A3 then saw Marek taking an easy win while Daniel and Tom battled for the runner-up spot with the better end for Daniel.
