Simon Kurzbuch renews with Shepherd

Shepherd Micro Racing announce the contract renewal with talented Swiss teamdriver Simon Kurzbuch who will be with the German manufacturer through to 2015. Together with his father and his brother as his mechanics he will attend all ENS races to try to defend his title, and he will also race the Swiss National Championship, the 1/8th Euros in Germany and the Worlds in Brazil. Simon has the following to say:

A very successful and exciting season is over. A huge thanks to the whole Team Shepherd for the great support and teamwork. I’m very proud to continue with this great team and their nice products and will do my best to get some good results again this year. See you on the track.

BRCA GT & F1 Nationals Rd1 – Report

BRCA GT & F1 Nationals Rd1 – Report

South Yorkshire Raceway saw the inaugural national meeting open the books on this never before seen class combination – the grand prix of the GTs and F1s. After the infamous GT12 class lost its national status in early 2014, when it ceased to be the 1/12 support class, GT12 really needed its own section to return to its former glory and flourish as a driver’s class. With a limited 30 driver grid seen at the 2013/14 supporting nationals and grey areas of rules being pushed further and further every round, the class that was so reputable previously, was struggling to keep afloat. The Clubman’s series was developed to back the class this year and with initially mild interest, it wasn’t looking good. However once the National series had been finalised, class popularity sky rocketed, with the final round of the Clubman’s series reaching an all time record of just under 90 participants.

WCICS Rd4 – Report

WCICS Rd4 – Report

The Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series visited the unseasonably warm city of Airdrie, Alberta, for their normally appropriately named Annual Snowpocalypse, round 4 of the WCICS series. Airdrie hosted a great event, with the highlight of the weekend, and a particular strength of the Karz club, the kids only Mini class. Seven other WCICS classes were hotly contested, and as the midway point before the Christmas break, the season class championships are revealing some strong favourites. In the Touring Car Modified class Team Associated’s Peter Tozser came from 4th on the grid to top of the podium, Serpent’s Steve Soon cleanly drove to 2nd, and dominant TQ and fast lap holder Wayne Mah unfortunately ended up 3rd after his Awesomatix took some contact.

Robin Kaiser wins at Austrian 1/12th Stock Nationals

The Austrian 1/12th scale Stock Nationals were held on the permanent indoor racetrack of the MAC Traiskirchen, just outside of Vienna. The event attracted a good turnout of drivers thanks to the 10.5T motor limit in combination with “blinky” speed controllers. Robin Kaiser took the TQ and win with his CRC Xti in front of his teammate Dominic Vogl and Rene Dockter also using a CRC Xti WC car. Beside the main 1/12th class the race also saw the running of a Formula category, won by Herbert Weber (CRC), and a World GT class that was taken by Christoph Holter (CRC).

Volker takes DHI Cup tally to six

Ronald Volker has brought his tally of DHI Cup titles to six after another easy win in A2 secured him overall victory at the 15th running of the famous Danish event. The Yokomo driver was joined on the podium in Odense by Xray’s Alexander Hagberg, winner of a controversial A3, with Freddy Sudhoff getting his debut for HB off to an encouraging start with third overall.  Having been the only serious contender to the reign of Volker over the weekend Yannic Prumper would miss the podium finishing fourth after a coming together with Hagberg as they battled for the lead in the closing race.
