Olly Jefferies seals double BRCA 1/12th title

Round 4 of the 2014/15 BRCA 1/12th scale Nationals took place at Crewe last weekend. A track which combined fast, sweeping bends with a tight and technical infield section proved to be challenging for drivers but also very good for providing some close, clean racing. The weekend is split into two separate race meetings, with classes for 13.5 and 10.5 Stock on Saturday and 10.5 and Open Modified on Sunday.

Jan Ratheisky joins Savox Factory Team

Savox have announced the signing of Euro Touring Series Formula Champion and Pro Stock Vice Champion Jan Rathiesky to their factory team. The Formula class winner of the opening round of the Euro Touring Series will use the Savox line of servos in his formula and 1/10th electric touring cars during his 2015 campaign.

Apolaro & Martello win at Pan American GT Race

The 3rd edition of the GT only Pan American GT Race was held on the previous IFMAR Worlds track in Homestead, Florida this past weekend with racers from Puerto Rico, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Curacao, US and other countries in attendance. Paolo Morganti in the Open class and Fabrizio Martello in the 5-port Spec class were the top qualifiers of the weekend and with with only four direct qualified to the A mains, semifinals were full of action and close racing. The one hour mains then saw DJ Apolaro taking the win from Rino Lino and Rablo Tejada while in the Spec class Fabrizio Martello came out successful. Franco Franco Desiderio and Jose Sanchez rounded out the Spec class podium.

Essex Winter Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and penultimate round of the popular Essex Winter Series championship took place this weekend on the large carpet circuit in the South-East of the UK. With the International Carpet Challenge taking place at the venue next month, a few drivers were not only using the meeting to hunt for EWS glory, but also to test ahead of the upcoming event. The Modified class saw a return to the championship for round 1 winner, Andy Moore, and his almost production-ready HPI HB Pro 5. Andy continued where he left off, topping the first round of qualifying, ahead of former multi-time EWS champion Paul Pinkney for Schumacher.

Revolution Design Racing Products announce the signing of Finland’s Juho Levanen to exclusively use RDRP’s range of Ultra tools and accessories. The 2-times European Champion and veteran Team Associated Factory driver has been using the tools for a while already and he had this to say about the deal:

Marc Fischer wins at Touring Master Series Rd2

Last weekend was the 2nd round of the Touring Master Series West Division run in Adenau/Germany. Serpent’s Marc Fischer managed to take the TQ in all qualifying rounds and he then went onto win the A-mains also to take a never challenged win. Fellow Serpent racers David Ehrbar and Ingo Herschbach completed the Modified class podium.

Mikimodel will hold the WRC Contest 2015 in Faloppio, Italy, on the 6th to 7th of February. The annual event sees the running of electric touring car classes beside Formula, 1/10th and 1/12th pan car categories. Kutvonen continues with Awesomatix for 2015

Awesomatix have announced that top Finnish driver Viljami Kutvonen has extended his contract as factory team driver with Awesomatix for the 2015 race season. The 2014 LRP Touring Car Masters champion and multiple ETS A-Finalist will attend to all major big races in Europe this year including the Russian Touring Masters. Viljami had this to say:

I’m very happy to continue with Awesomatix as factory driver. Last year we made our biggest achievements yet and we are looking forward to improve our results for the upcoming season with our new Evo II car. I want to thank Oleg Babich for his support since 2012 and our new team manager Max Mächler for trusting in me and we are looking forward to our most successful year yet.
