Xray NT1 alu lower engine mounts

New from Xray for the NT1, these lower engine mounts are made from tough aluminium alloy, and include factory-pressed locating pins. Lowered by 1.5mm compare to the standard engine mount it lowers the engine position to push the weight as low as possible to lower the CG of the car. Makes the car more stable and makes the car roll less and less traction roll. Must be used with the 2012 NT1 chassis and  30mm aluminium flywheel reverse XCA-flat.

Reedy & Associated sweep Indoor Champs

The U.S. Indoor Championships is one of the longest-running and most prestigious events on the on-road racing circuit. Traditionally held over Thanksgiving weekend in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, the 2012 running was shortened to three days, which allowed participants to spend Thanksgiving Day with their families. Practice was scheduled for Friday with three rounds of qualifying on Saturday, followed by the final round of qualifying and the main events on Sunday. In 1/12 Modified Reedy factory driver Keven Hébert has been the man to beat lately and he continued his domination of the class with a qualifying run 14 seconds faster than the second place driver. The main event saw Keven drive his 12R5.2 away from the field early and cross the finish line first with a two-lap advantage over second place. A Reedy 6800mAh LiPo battery powered Keven to victory in a class which relies heavily on battery performance.

Ari Bakla wins at Australian EP Onroad Nationals

The usually sunny Queensland saw a rain affected Australian electric on-road nationals weekend that started with a perfectly blue sky but come the qualifiers the weather turned to the worst. Race day Saturday started late due to heavy overnight rain and similar weather on Sunday meant the race director decided to use Monday to run the finals. In the open modified class its was local young gun Corey Broadstock and Chris Sturdy who showed a fast pace in practice but it was Xray’s Ari Bakla who took TQ honors after some close racing in the qualifiers. With Monday being used as the rain day and conditions went back to hot weather. A main 1 saw Ari pull out a gap instantly, and was never threatened. The second final was a different story, Simon Nicholson took the advantage of new tyres and passed Ari on the inside of turn one, winning the final by two seconds. A main number three was a little like the first one, Ari was on new tyres now giving him more grip so he easily pulled away from the field handing him the win and national title.

Alex Hagberg wins at Asian ORCA Cup final

The final race of the Asian ORCA Cup series was held in the small village of Kota Raja, just outside Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The race saw some 100 entries split on two classes: 13.5T turbo timing and 17.5T blinky classes. In the 13.5T class it was Alexander Hagberg who was considered as the pre-event favorite. The best Malaysian drivers, Azri Amri, and Jacky Siow were also both very fast on this track with their extensive track knowledge and stock class experience. As traction was very low, also in combination with the hard Ride R36 controlled tire, car set-up was very difficult. The difference between new and old tires was also very big, as always on asphalt. Using a clever tyre strategy, only three sets of tyre were allowed, Alex Hagberg won all five qualifying rounds and used his TQ position and two sets of new tyres to win the first and second A final. The second place went to Jacky Siow with Wong Kok Wai, who was able to win the third final, taking the remaining spot on the podium.

CRC sweep U.S Indoor Championships

The annual U.S. Indoor Championships in Cleveland is a premier road racing event for 1/12th and 1/10th pan cars and touring cars. For over 30 years, the ‘Champs’ has created many exciting finishes and fond memories. For 2012, there were big changes to the schedule and a new venue. For the first time in 25 years, racers would no longer travel to the Holiday Inn in Independence, OH, instead the new location for the race was the Holiday Inn in Strongsville, Ohio. Also new this year, no car would hit the track on Thanksgiving day, making it a shorter more affordable race.

Maxi Vogl wins German Open Indoor Masters

Shepherd driver Maxi Vogl won the German Open Indoor Masters the second time in a row in front of his team-mate and 2012 German vice-champion Daniel Sieber. The race took place at the “Faszination Modellbau” fair in Friedrichshafen in the very South of Germany and attracted 35 drivers in the 1/8th scale class. Unfortunately the race was overshadowed by a bad accident during the main final. On Friday the track was open for free practise and both Shepherd drivers had a good pace already. The qualifying was held on Saturday and Maxi and Daniel showed a great performance. At the end it was Maxi taking the TQ less then 0,1sec in front of his fast team-mate Daniel with both drivers being the only one to reach 18 laps in qualifying securing themselves the pole-position in the semi-finals.

Adrian Berntsen win Rd2 of Norway Indoor Nats

The 2nd round of the Norwegian national indoor series was held in Gjovik last weekend. All of the best modified drivers in Norway were attending the race which increased the level of the race and made it even tougher to make the A-main, and also making it harder to make the podium. After qualifying it was Adrian Berntsen who took the TQ spot being the only driver to make a 30 lap run. In second was Tom Erik Haaversen, while Petter Berntsen took the 3rd spot. The gap between Tom Erik and Petter was 0.142 seconds. In the first two finals it was Adrian who could take two easy wins and claimed the 1st place overall. Talented Oskar A. Fjeld drove two impressive finals battling both with Petter and Tom Erik to take the 2nd place in both of the two first finals. Petter Berntsen took 3rd in the first final, while the newly crowned 1:10 2wd buggy Norwegian Champion Niklas Bjørkå-Roos took 3rd place in the 2nd final. In the last final Adrian was having a safe lead, but after rolling on the curb in the last minute, Petter was able to overtake the lead and in the end finished right ahead of Adrian, taking an important win in the last final to take the 2nd place overall from Oskar.

Martin Lissau wins Danish Nationals Rd2

The second round of the Danish Nationals was held at LFRC, a new club in Denmark with a brand new track. Saturday practice started and the track had not so much grip at the start, but the traction was building up quickly and the lap times got better. On Sunday when the race got underway it was soon obvious that it would be a close battle between Mike Goswig and Martin Lissau. After qualification Lissau would take TQ with the only 26 laps run, about a second in front of Mike. The first two finals showed great racing between Mike and Martin and although there were a number of touches there was great sportsmanship shown. Lissau would win all three but only after some close racing with Gosvig in 2nd and and Patrick Folman 3rd.
