Tim Wood joins Hasi Tuned

Top British Championship 1:8 Onroad racer Tim Wood will race Hasi Tuned engines in 2023.  The Shepherd driver joins the engine brand of Swiss onroad star pairing Silvio Hächler and Simon Kurzbuch in an important year that will see him race at the World Championships in Japan along with his usual British and ENS campaigns.  A 7-time British Champion and European Finalist, the experience Wood said, ‘“I am so impressed with the attention to detail and focus on absolute top quality the Hasi team have. I am super excited to start this new journey and want to thank all at Hasi for the great opportunity”.

Crompton joins Xray

Xray has announced that UK driver Paul Crompton is joining the Xray Team to race the both its 1:10 electric and 1:8 nitro offroad platforms.  With a 2023 programme that will include the 1:10 Offroad World Championships in Arizona in September, Crompton said, ” I’m really excited to join the Xray factory team, I can’t wait to to start racing with the cars and do everything I can to get the best results possible.  I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at XRAY and the Hudy family for giving me this opportunity.  Let’s make 2023 an amazing year!”

Nosram adds Ehrbar to team

Top international 1:10 Formula racer and designer David Ehrbar has joined a resurgent Nosram electronics for 2023.  The German joins the brand which made its racing return clear last week with the announcement that Alexander Hagberg would run their products.  Announcing Ehrbar will also represent Nosram, owner Jürgen Lautenbach said, “I’m excited to announce that David Ehrbar, Team XRAY’s TC Stock specialist and Formula designer at Ehrbar Engineering joins Team Nosram!!  David and I go a long way back, great that we will finally work together!  As a IFMAR Vice World Cup Champion, EFRA Vice European Champion, multiple German National Champion and ETS – Euro Touring Series frontrunner, David brings a wealth of Stock experience to the team and will not only race full Nosram electronics in all his rides but will assist in product development. Herbert wins Hudy Indoor Champs

Keven Hebert has won the Hudy Indoor Champs at ProLevel RC in Chesterfield, Missouri.   Attracting more than 150 entries over the classes, in Modified Touring Car it was a battle between the factory Xray drivers of Hebert and Alexander Hagberg.  Setting a fastest time of 32/5:00.870 in the fourth & final round of qualifying, Hebert would secure the TQ from Hagberg who put in his best run in Q3 when the Swede set a time of 32/5:02.688.  Behind, the Awesomatix of Kemp Anderson secured third ahead of Donny Lia, both also posting their fastest times in Q3.  In the single Main, the top three remained unchanged with Hebert having a 2.3 second advantage over his team-mate at the finish.  Behind Anderson, Andrew Ellis got passed Lia for fourth.  In 1:12 Mod, it was a reverse of the TC podium with Top Qualifier Anderson taking the win from former World Champion Hagberg and Hebert.  In Stock Touring Car Billy Sydor took the win while in Stock 1:12 Fabio Evangelista was the victor.

Fyrrework to power Mackman

Front running British 1:12 racer Adam Mackman’s 2023 campaign is to be powered by Fyrrework batteries.  The Schumacher team driver, who claimed an overall podium in the LMP12 National Championship last year, will be using both the Fyrrework 7400mAh 1S 3.7V 200C & 8500mah 1s 3.7v 130c carbon ECP plus lipo in his LMP12 and GT12 rides.  Mackman has already been involved with Fyrrework in testing the cells with his feedback key in choosing the right cells.

Grainger returns to Schumacher for 2023

Schumacher Racing has announced that Chris Grainger is returning to the team for 2023.  The veteran British Touring Car driver previously raced with the British manufacturer from 2008 to the end of 2014 and in that time made the A-Main at the 2012 World Championship as well as picking up three British National titles.  Switching to Team Associated after his first stint with Schumacher, he would join Awesomatix for the 2020 season representing them for the following three seasons.  Announcing the news Schumacher said, ‘In what is the first of a few new exciting driver signings, we are extremely happy to welcome back long time Touring Car racer Chris Grainger to the team. Chris spent an extremely successful period at Schumacher, winning many BRCA Touring car titles, and became an IFMAR Worlds A finalist. Chris is back to compete with us again, this time with the Mi8. With his immense knowledge, Chris is sure to add to the Touring Car program, improving products, while securing some excellent results at UK events.  Welcome to the #SchumacherFamily!’.  Grainger added, “I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to return to Schumacher Racing!  I enjoyed my most successful period of RC while at Schumacher, 2009-2014.  So I can’t wait to get stuck in with the team in 2023!”

Gruber moves to Capricorn for 2023

Nitro Onroad frontrunner Toni Gruber has been announced as a new addition to the Capricorn factory team for 2023.  The German departs Shepherd after 4-years to join fellow countryman Dominic Greiner at the Italian manufacturer which also bolstered its line-up with the signing of Italian Alessio Mazzeo last month.  The former European Champion said, “I want to say a big thanks to the complete Shepherd family.  We had a great time together and we enjoyed this Team a lot.  The last 4 years we will never forget and you will be always a nice memory in my mind.  But beginning season 2023 we start with a new adventure.  We really looking forward for a great cooperation with Capricorn and we can’t wait to hit track to archive strong results together.”

Hagberg to race Nosram batteries in 2023

Nosram has announced that factory Xray driver Alexander Hagberg will race their batteries in 2023.  The former 1:12 World Champion joins Nosram after a four year stint with Sunpadow RC.  Announcing the news Nosram said they were, ‘Thrilled to announce that Team Xray’s Superstar Alexander Hagberg joins Team Nosram and will use Nosram batteries in all his rides!!  IFMAR World Champion Alexander Hagberg brings a wealth of experience to the team and will not only race Nosram batteries but will assist in product development.
