AKA Enduro & Wishbone SC tires & Grooved inserts

AKA have announced the release of the Enduro and Wishbone tires, designed specifically for 1/10 short course trucks and to fit the stock wheels from all the popular brands. Gil Losi, Jr. and Mark Pavidis designed these tires which feature 2.2”/3” bead design and an inner carcass design made to perfectly fit the industry standard AKA closed cell foams. This results in a much more controlled outer sidewall for more consistent handling and tread wear meaning no more cranking in tons of camber to keep the tire patch flat on the ground. The AKA Enduro tread pattern is an all round good tire for just about any surface condition, while the Wishbone is suited to high bite blue grooved clay tracks or indoor clay tracks. AKA have also released of their next generation of tire foams. Based on the original industry standard closed cell foam insert, their new grooved insert is designed to take advantage of the radial ribs the carcass of their Wishbone and Enduro tires while still providing great performance in the other treads. This new grooved insert design is replacing our original non-grooved insert.

Team Epic short course foams

Team Epic have introduced new front and rear 1/10th scale short course foam tires. Designed for racing on asphalt and carpet on road tracks, they are available in blue and green compounds and come pre mounted on chrome rims with red beadlock with 12mm hex and fit all short course trucks with the exception of the Associated SC10.

AKA Pre-mounts on Pro-5 wheel

AKA have announced the release of pre-mounted tires on their Pro-5 wheel specifically aimed at the Short Course market. They have chosen the Cityblock and Crossbrace as their first release on these wheels, which in the Super Soft compound yielded the best results in a variety of conditions during our testing. These Pro-5 pre-mounts also utilize AKA’s innovative and often imitated ground, closed cell inserts for the ultimate in durability and performance. These are a great add-on to sell with their Short Course adapter sets for the Slash and the Associated SC10.

New from Rock Crawling specialists RC4wd come these ultra scale high performance off road tires made for short course trucks. These Dirt Digger 2.2 x 3.0″ Off road tires are suitable for the Traxxas Slash & Slayer, HPI Blitz and Associated SC10 and sport a reinforced sidewall. Available in X3 Ultra soft compound they come supplied with suitable foam inserts and are sold in pairs.

Pro-Line SC Tire combos

For racing your short course truck Pro-Line now offer their Caliber and Bow-Tie patterns pre mounted on split six black one-piece wheels. Or if you wish to turn your SC into a sand slinging super truck you can try these new Sling Shot SC tires. With 10 monster grabbing 1/4″ tall paddles sand and snow are easily overcome. The Mohawk SC is the perfect compliment for the front of the car. A large center rib and smaller outer rib give your Short Course truck immediate steering. Both are available unmounted or pre mounted on either split six black one-piece wheels or split six red/black bead-loc wheels.

Pro-Line Caliber SC tires & Split Six wheels

New from Pro-Line for the Slash, Slayer, Blitz and SC10 is the Caliber SC tire. The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface. Also new, to work with Caliber SC and other SC tires, from Pro-Line is the the Split Six one piece wheel, whose design is the staple look of short course vehicles. Until now, it’s only been available in a 3 piece bead-loc design, but now it is offered in a lightweight one-piece glueable design that’s more affordable and completely performance driven.

JConcepts Short Course Goose Bumps

With Short Course racing gaining popularity JConcepts have developed their Goose Bumps for the Slash / Slayer and SC10. Retaining the realistic look the tires are completely detailed with center lug all-terrain inspired tread and side wall. Combining a totally unique step pin and bar lug design with sticky green compound to allow even greater control on off-road surfaces. The Goose Bumps are a special breed, designed for maximum performance when new or used as the design allows even wear all the way down to the tire body. Once the driver wears through the initial pin, a bar follows to maximize potential on aggressive surfaces. The Goose Bumps incorporate a compact tire body with a crisp tread pattern with precise separation for intense short course racing competition. In new condition they excel on soft surfaces with either dry or wet conditions. Worn Goose Bumps excel on indoor or outdoor clay tracks where a slight groove has formed.
