JConcepts MBX-6 Punisher & 2.2″ Flip Outs

JConcepts MBX-6 Punisher & 2.2" Flip Outs

New from JConcepts is the Punisher body for the Mugen MBX-6. The radical new Punisher body features the slight cab-forward treatment which is amongst the most aggressive in class giving the Punisher top notch performance. Blended wing / body design gives additional down-force to the side-pods and windshield which increases drivability, corner speed and jump control. The rear base of the cab area represents the latest offering for 1/8th buggy racing featuring a super low profile design for increased engine cooling, air flow and escape. Also new are these Flip Outs, giving drivers that tire in-between the Goose Bumps and Double Dees they have asked for.  A very small pin construction makes up the foundation for the Flip Outs design and gives the grip when the conditions are wet and green in the morning, when traction is sometimes hard to come-by. These tires are now available in green compound for both the 2.2″ 4wd front wheel and the 2.2″ truck wheel.

Mattia Pesenti wins Rd3 in Switzerland

Mattia Pesenti wins Rd3 in Switzerland

This last weekend saw the 3rd round of Swiss 1/8th scale on road Championships run in Herblingen and we received this report from Mattia Pesenti. We arrived at the track on Friday at 12 and it was wet, but it dried very fast so at 3pm we could practice and I had a very good feeling with my Motonica. Unfortunately Saturday morning the rain came again and so I had to setup my car for the wet. I lost the first qualifier but in the second round I did a very good time placing me in 3rd position and as the rain stopped so the track become faster. However I couldn’t do better in the 3rd round but in the last one I put on different tyres and I was really fast and managed to take the pole position.

Team Orion IBS LiPo Rocket packs

Team Orion IBS LiPo Rocket packs

Team Orion have released their range of IBS LiPo Rocket packs. IBS stands for Integrated Balancing System. It is Team Orion’s latest innovation in battery technology. Instead of a cable coming out of the battery, having no function when used in the car, a connector is integrated into the hard case. The advantages are no more balancing connector to take care of making it the easiest installation in every car. Every IBS battery is delivered with an adapter cable (male/male) to make balancing easy, even with the battery installed in the car. The packs themselves come in round or rectangular form, the round version offers best compatibility for cars made for NiMH stick packs, while the rectangular packs are equipped with even bigger cells offering more capacity and more run time. The round versions are available in 3000, 3500 & 4000mAh, while the rectangular packs come in 4600, 5000 & 5400mAh and all packs can be supplied with TRX, Deans or Tamiya type connector.
