Yeah Racing TT-02 aluminium drivetrain options

Yeah Racing introduce two new option parts for Tamiya’s TT-02 entry-level 4WD touring car in the form of a main drive shaft and drive shaft joints. Starting with the main shaft, the part is CNC-machined from high quality aluminium and much stiffer than the stock part, making for a more efficient power transfer. Also new are suitable aluminium main drive shaft joints. They replace the kit parts with a much stronger solution for improved efficiency and added rigidity plus they come with an optional O-ring that is meant to provide a more aggressive steering feeling. Ty Tessmann double at 1/10th Pre Worlds

Ty Tessmann double at 1/10th Pre Worlds

The 1/10th Offroad Pre Worlds was run this week at the Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, California. Crazy heat and sugared track conditions meant the drivers had a lot to contend with throughout the event. Having found the track to be very low on traction on the first day of practice, the decision was made to coat the surface with sugar, something that is regularly done at the Cactus Classic event each year. It helps race traction and minimizes the work needing to be done to maintain it, however some teams were against its application. The negative however is that it is very hard on tires as well as parts and has so much traction that drivers in 2wd mostly need to switch to mid motor cars. With all that said the conditions were consistent from the 2nd practice day through to the finals. Qualifying would see reigning World Champion Ryan Cavalieri take the top spot in 2wd ahead of reigning 1/8th National Champion Ty Tessmann in 2nd and former World Champion Neil Cragg in 3rd. In the 4wd class Ty would take the top spot ahead of Cactus Classic Champion Ryan Maifield in 2nd and Associated team mate Cavalieri in 3rd.

Team Associated B4/T4 centered ESC mount

Team Associated B4/T4 centered ESC mount

Team Associated introduce the Factory Team centered ESC mount that allows racers to mount their vehicle’s speed controller in the center of the car against the rear bulkhead. In addition, the plate makes room underneath for the receiver when using shorter packs. These changes move more of the weight to the center, allowing the vehicle to change directions faster. This advantage is even more pronounced on high-grip surfaces. The mount is designed for the use with Team Associated’s B4 and T4 platforms and is also usable with standard size 2S packs and comes including mounting hardware.
