Schumacher vented shock caps

Schumacher have released these new vented shock caps for all their small bore shocks and mainly suited for Off Road, however at recent large Touring Car races ‘Emulsion’ style shocks have become more popular and these caps will fit both TC and Off Road cars. The new cap allows you to build Emulsion shocks easily and consistently. They also allow you to build them with normal diaphragms, both vented and sealed, allowing different levels of rebound to be used.

Xray Column – Making the T4, Part 1

The 64th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives us an insight into the design, prototyping and manufacture of their all new T4 touring car.

I had been feeling for some time that we would need to attempt a different approach in order to reduce traction rolling in extreme traction conditions, yet still be able to increase steering and improve corner speed. Before doing anything with the long proven suspension I first wanted to experiment with weight distribution, chassis flex and primarily CG. My theory was that lowering the CG would reduce roll, thereby increasing traction and corner speed. Now I needed to test that theory.

Exotek Durango gear cover & hex adapters

Exotek have released this heavy duty CNC machined gear cover for the DEX210, DEST210 and DESC210. The cover allows larger pinion area for stock class racing, allowing up to 37 tooth 48 pitch pinions. Aids in cooling the motor by adding more surface area to the motor mount while a slotted bottom screw mounting allows for easier removal from mid motor configuration. Exotek have also produced a pair of precision 15mm alloy hex adapters for the DESC210 or DESC410. A special design uses a set screw to lock the pesky axle pins in place for worry free wheel changes.

JConcepts body mount braces

Short Course trucks are very body sensitive. The proper body style, cut-outs, overall weight and roll characteristics can determine a properly handling vehicle. The TLR 22 SCT has a very flexible front and rear body mounts which provides several durability advantages but when it comes to performance, having a sturdy base to the body is critical. JConcepts body mount braces perform just as the name suggests and supports the body mount in high-force situations. While in the turns, the weight of the body hangs down in the rear and allows the body to flex toward the tires which causes unwanted handling and aero changes which may contribute to an ill handling vehicle. Simply install the brace as instructed and the body will now remain in a more standardized position on high-bite conditions and during hard corning.
