Panther tyres coming to the UK

Panther Tyres

We just received a mail from our friends at Horizon Hobby UK, formerly Helger Racing, saying that have started to import the Panther range of tyres into the UK. The name Panther may not be totally familiar to Off road racers in the UK but the products will be. Panther have been manufacturing tyres for both on and off road since 1985, originally all the tyres where produced for Kit manufactures and other aftermarket tyre suppliers under there own brands.

Four or five years ago a decision was taken by the folks at Panther that with all the specialised knowledge that they had gathered in the early years in mold design, tread patterns and even more importantly rubber compounds they should
put it to good use and build there own brand of tyres.

Since that day success has followed with many wins at both Regional and National level in the USA and around the world in all major categories of off road racing, 1/10th Electric truck and buggy as well as 1/8th Off road gas buggy and trucks. Now they are to be launch properly on to the UK scene and Horizon Hobby UK are very pleased to announce that they have been appointed the sole distribution agency for the UK.

With the ever-expanding growth of the nitro Off road racing scene whether it is bashing in the local park or racing at one of the UK’s premier tracks, Panther produce tyres to suit every application. From “super soft” through “medium” to “hard” compounds Panther tires are constructed to offer the most tread stability possible leading to consistent handling, traction and tread pattern wear whilst not compromising there forward traction or side bite.

As with any range of tyres there are always the popular few which racers prefer and find that give them that all important racing edge. In the 1/8th Rally-X scene the Komodo Dragon, Dragon 2, Gator and Hedgehog have proven themselves time and time again to compete with the best at all levels of competition. Extensive testing has shown that the Komodo Dragon and Dragon II are a very good all round tyre that is used in all conditions and on virtually all track surfaces, with the soft offering the best solution for dirt tracks, with the medium soft ideally suited to Astroturf surfaces. The original Dragon with the wider centre bar offers more forward bite than the smaller twin offset bars of the Dragon II. For hard packed dirt the Gator offers very good performance with the English style grass tracks being the domain of the Hedgehog which is a tyre that has proven it self time and again on both fully grassed tracks as well as worn grass tracks and astro turf, The Hedgehog also work wells on wet sticky mud (loamy) tracks.

All the tyres are supplied with suitable foam inserts for maximum traction and tyre usage ensuring that there is something for everyone.
