Van Gastel wins Dutch 1/8th Nats Rd6

The 6th round of the Dutch 1/8th scale Nationals was held last weekend at the ultra smooth Apeldoorn track in the east of the country. The drivers were greeted with great weather and in the NK main final it was Kyosho racer Ilia Van Gastel, who won here last year in the Nomac class, that took the win from Marcel Schouten in 2nd and Danny Leeuwis in 3rd. In the Nomac class it was a win for Miquel Hereijgers ahead of Donny Blommers in 2nd with Peter van Marion claiming 3rd.

Active Hobby release 1/12 EP AWD Touring Car

Japanese company Active Hobby have released this first picture of what they are describing as a new and purely original 1/12 scale electric powered touring car design. Called the A210ss the all wheel drive chassis, which is set for release in December, features fully adjustable long span suspension and will run on supplied 54mm rubber tires. Active Hobby will annouce further details of the A210ss in October.

Serpent sign young talent Neumann

Following on from their announcement last week that Gerd Strenge will spearhead the design of their re-entry into offroad racing competition, Dutch company Serpent have announced the signing of young German talent Jörn Neumann.

Neuman has been racing intensively with 1/10 Offroad cars and has been topping the podium in the European Championships and is a regular finalists at the big races. 4WD is his number one class but he has also proved very qiuck in 2wd. Jörn has been a dedicated racer and promotor of the Durango 1/10 Project and has travelled to many races with Gerd Strenge, the designer of this unique car.

New for your Serpent chassis are these brass battery holders for the companys 960 and 720 chassis’. A direct replacement for the original plastic version they have been machined from a single piece of brass. Using these new heavier battery plates brings more weight to the lowest part of the car and helps prevent the car from grip rolling in high traction conditions and thus allows your car to corner at higher speeds.
