Bas de Konink wins 2008 Truggy Cup

The final race of the 2008 Truggy Cup was held last weekend at the Mach One track in Helmond, The Netherlands. In the Master class it was Bas de Konink who was top qualifier and had the best start in the final with the group behind him coming together in the first corner, giving him a gap up front. Behind Eric Duijster, Paul Geelen, Henoc Luis and 2007 Champion Mark van Waayenburg fought wheel to wheel for 2nd place, with the entire field remaining tightly bunched in the early stages. At the head of the field Bas led the race throughout, taking his GRP powered Hong Nor X2-CRT to victory ahead by 2 laps ahead of Paul Geelen, the winner of the previous two Truggy Cup 2008 races, in 2nd with Jorg of Leuken taking the final podium place in 3rd. This result gave Bas de Konink the 2008 Truggy Cup title.
