HPI Racing Formula Ten

HPI Racing Formula Ten

Following on from our coverage here and here, HPI Europe have offered up more details and photographs of the new Formula Ten chassis. This fantastic new kit is designed to replicate the thrills and excitement of the fastest car racing series in the world. It features realistically scaled dimensions such as wheelbase, width, tyre size and more, allowing you to faithfully recreate your favorite team’s livery and do battle with rivals out on the track. There is truly nothing like the excitement of seeing a full grid of cars painted in replica colours, waiting for the lights to go.

The first thing you’ll notice are the realistic front and rear wings with all the fantastic shapes and curves of the hotly contested 2007 and 2008 racing seasons. These are injection-moulded, high-impact plastic pieces that work ideally as bumpers and as functional aerodynamic devices. They definitely won’t come off as easily as the wings on the real cars! Optional nose pieces will be available to replicate low-nose Formula One cars, and other types are on the way.

The tyres included with the Formula Ten kit will be the grooved tires to complete the look of the cars from 1998-2008, and the slick tyres shown will be available as options to complete the look of the vintage cars.

Completing the amazing scale detail is the awesome 5-piece polycarbonate bodyshell, which features a variety of scoops, winglets and barge boards that allow you to make it into your favourite racing team from the ‘winglet and chimney’ era! Soon, you’ll also be able to easily replicate the design and total look of your favourite Formula One car, team or driver from other classic eras of Formula One!

The look and feel of the Formula Ten is enhanced by its authentic scale size – the Formula Ten is almost exactly 1/10th the size of the real thing.

Easy to Tune and Upgrade
The Formula Ten is a ‘T-bar’ style ‘pan car’, which is very easy to set up and highly resistant to damage, so it’s perfect for beginners, club racers and fun running.

A selection of great standard parts are included in the kit to make the Formula Ten easy to set up and drive for nearly every driver, regardless of skill or experience level. Precision aluminium rear hubs are included for minimal rear axle vibration, and they’re both anodized in bright HPI orange for cool looks. A strong steel axle adds strength to the rear end and makes it extra-durable. The front suspension uses a simple ball-connect and coil spring design for easy tuning – just use softer springs to add more front grip, or stiffer springs for less grip. The rear suspension is designed around the FRP T-bar and friction shock for simple and rugged operation, and the 3-gear bevel rear differential makes basic rear grip tuning an easy matter.

All this durable construction and simple design doesn’t mean you won’t be able to hop up the Formula Ten and add options, however! If you’re an advanced driver or dedicated racer you’ll be able to fine-tune the handling of the chassis, just like a real Formula One team!

Whether you want to add corning grip, more speed, faster acceleration or just a bit of style to the chassis, we’ll have an array of options that could turn any back-of-the-grid monster into a pole-sitting beast! Graphite chassis parts add chassis stiffness, option tuning springs allow you to add grip, a tuned centre shock will enhance rear grip, an aluminium motor mount will keep your motor cool, a ball differential will enhance rear grip, and many more option parts will be available to totally customize and tune your own F1 racing car.
