Grainger secures title with Rd4 victory

The Snetterton circuit in Norfolk hosted round four of this years BRCA touring car championship, the meeting was held in glorious sunshine and saw victory for Chris Grainger and in winning the meeting Chris secured the 2009 BRCA national title. Qualifying was all about tyre management with the Snetterton track giving its best time on new rubber, the drop off on second run tyres was very noticeable, so it was important to put in a clean run when you had new tyres fitted. Chris Grainger dominated the early stages of qualifying with his Schumacher Mi4, Olly Jefferies kept Chris on his toes finishing second in every round of qualifying during the Saturday runs, Andy Moore and Elliott Harper struggled on day one but improved their cars overnight.

In the Pro Stock class championship leader Jon Bowden had a troubled qualifying and could only manage eighth on the grid, on pole was a very on form Lee Price for Schumacher ahead of Chris Clark, Adam Meakin, Dominic Carter and Rob West. Chris Grainger took pole position for the Super Touring A final with his Schumacher Mi4 ahead of the TC5 of Olly Jefferies and Hot Bodies driver Andy Moore, Elliott Harper was next up for Xray and star of qualifying at the last round at Cotswold Colin Price was fifth.

A win in leg one and two of the A final saw Chris Grainger cruise to the meeting win ahead of Hot Bodies driver Andy Moore and Associated’s Olly Jefferies, the victory gives Chris his fifth successive UK title and the first major win for the Schumacher Mi4, the championship has one more round to go and that will be at Mendip next month. In Pro Stock Adam Meakin won his first Pro Stock National with his Xray, second behind Adam was Dominic Carter with Lee Price third.
