Cavalieri does the triple at PRCR Invitational

The 1st Annual PRCR Invitational was held this past weekend in Portland, Oregon at Portland R/C Raceway. This is the home track for Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars. JP helped organize this event and would also race. The goal was to have the top driver from each of the 3 major manufacturers in attendance (Kyosho, Associated, Losi). This would become reality with Jared Tebo attending for Kyosho/Team Orion, Ryan Cavalieri attending for Team Associated/Team Orion, and Dustin Evans attending for Team Losi/Xcelorin. The race would consist of over 100 entries after everything was calculated.

The race format consisted of 3 6-Minute Qualifiers using the Rocket Round format (single fastest run counts) on Saturday. Then Sunday the lower main bump-ups would be ran first, followed by Triple A-Mains for all classes. The top 7 drivers after qualifying would go straight to the A-Main with a 1 car bump-up from the lower mains.

In the 2wd Modified Buggy Class it was Team Orion’s Jared Tebo who TQ’ed overall. Evans qualified 2nd and Cavalieri 3rd. This was the only class that would come down to a 3rd and final A-Main. At the end, it was Cavalieri winning A-Main #1 and A-Main #3 to take home his 1st Championship! Jared Tebo would finish 2nd overall, with Dustin Evans in 3rd.

In the 4wd Modified Class it was Team Orion’s Ryan Cavalieri TQ’ing overall. Tebo qualified 2nd and Evans 3rd. Cavalieri went on to win A-Main #1 and A-Main #2 to take home his 2nd Championship of the weekend! Jared Tebo would finish 2nd overall, and Dustin Evans 3rd.

In the Modified Truck Class it was once again Team Orion’s Jared Tebo who TQ’ed overall. Cavalieri qualified 2nd and Evans 3rd. Cavalieri would take home his 3rd Championship of the weekend by winning A-Main #1 and A-Main #2! This making it a clean sweep for the weekend. Tebo would finish 2nd overall and Dustin Evans 3rd.

In the Stock Short Course Class it was privateer Jaromy Smallwood who TQ’ed overall with his Team Orion powered Kyosho Ultima SC. Jaromy went on to win A-Main #1 and A-Main #2 to take home the Championship!

In the Modified Short Course Class it was Kyosho/Team Orion Driver Andy DiBrino who would TQ overall with his Team Orion powered Kyosho Ultima SC. Andy went on to win A-Main #2 and A-Main #3 to take home the Championship!
