Grainger heads qualfiying at BRCA TC Rd1

The 2010 BRCA touring car nationals kicked off yesterday with day one of the Mendip national. Practice was followed by three rounds of qualifying with drivers counting their best three scores on a round by round basis. Defending champion and new dad Chris Grainger got off to a good start and the Schumacher driver holds the overnight lead in the modified class ahead of former World Champion Andy Moore for Hot Bodies in 2nd.

The Pro Stock title is up for grabs with reigning champion Jo Bowden not racing the full season. The class is wide open and close but its Chris Slater that leads overnight with his Associated as drivers head off to their hotels, Chris’s team mate young Zak Smith was fastest in rounds one and two but a poor third round sees Zak in sixth, Lee Price is second behind Slater with Dominic Carter completing the top three overnight leader board.
