Bultynck & Vekemans dominate Belgian Rd4

The fourth round of the Belgian touring car nationals took place last weekend on the large technical HRT track. In the EFRA class it was Olivier Bultynck who claimed pole position ahead of Manuel Henriet in 2nd and Thomas Stockman in 3rd. In the finals Bultynck could easily win in the first leg ahead of Henriet, but in the 2nd leg a broken spur gear saw him retire on lap 2 allowing Henriet to take the win ahead of Stockman. In the final deciding final there was 4 drivers who could still take the overall win and it started badly for the pole man Oliver who spun on the dirty track and dropped back. But he kept his head down and worked his way passed the leaders to take over at the front and claim his 2nd leg win to take the overall. Manuel came home 2nd to claim 2nd overall while Thomas took 3rd overall.

In the Superstock class it was Geoffrey Vekemans who once again took pole with Werner Broeckx taking 2nd and Dominique Morsa in 3rd. In the first final Geoffrey pulled away from the pack and could win easily with Werner in 2nd and John Lenaers taking 3rd. The 2nd leg was more of the same from Geoffrey who again led all the way, with the battle behind for the runner up spot with Stefan Rommens overtaking Pasquinel and Werner to take 2nd place with Werner in 3rd. Despite wrapping up the overall win Geoffrey took the start and with no pressure drove his fastest final. Behind him it was Werner who took 2nd with Pasquinel Neys taking 3rd. Geoffrey was the overall winner, Werner Broeckx taking 2nd and Pasquinel Neys a very happy 3rd.
