Marc Fisher wins Belgian EPS

Marc Fisher wins Belgian EPS

The European Pan Series took place in Belgium on the last weekend of November. Free practice started on Saturday morning followed by controlled practice and Team Corally driver Marc Fischer had a very good feeling with his 12SL from the very beginning, however a lot of drivers had problems with the track layout since it was made out of steel and the cars easily broke. Following practice there was 4 qualification rounds and Marc improved from one qualification round to another. For comparison in the first qualification round Marc’s fastest round was 44 laps and 10,5 seconds fast lap and in the last qualification round for that day Marc ran 45 laps and 10,1 seconds fast lap and so he stood on overnight TQ until Sunday morning when there were two more qualification rounds and the finals. The last two qualifiers were very good and Marc changed a bit on the car to be better which helped, again Marc ran 10,09 seconds and the fastest 46 round which gave him a solid TQ position.

From the start of the 1st A final Marc was able to build a good distance to the chasing pack. One fast lap after another and Marc won that final by 9 seconds to the second position. In the second final Marc ran used tires from the first final thinking maybe the used tires were better and it was the case. From the start Marc was able to distance himself to the pack and again he raced very constant running the fastest lap of 10,03 seconds and had the average time of 8 minutes of 10,39 seconds winning the final in 47 laps. In the stock class Team Corally driver Olivier Bultynck won the EPS title.
