Toy Fair 2011 – Serpent

Serpent Cobra Truggy

Serpent are displaying their new Cobra Truggy on their stand and as you would expect the car is very much like the S811 buggy but larger. The most stand out feature of this car is the cab forward body shell which is very aggressive and low in the centre around the engine. A small update to the drivetrain, using 3 bearings to support the rear diff coupler has also been carried across to the buggy, its only update.

Serpent S411 touring car

The S411 1/10th scale touring car is an all new platform with a focus on ease of maintenance with the cars 4 main bulkheads being completely interchangeable as are the lower suspension brackets which can simply be turned upside down to be used in the opposite position. Other features includes a separate motor mount from the rear bulkhead, captured main shaft bearings as well as the neat integrated servo saver on the steering rack. A narrow LiPo chassis and new top deck complete the changes.

Serpent S120L showing linkage points for side dampers

On the pan car side, the S120 Link car has been given some tweaks to allow it to use side dampers, in place of the regular monoshock. The dampers weren’t ready in time for the show but the system is the same as that seen on most other 1/12th scale chassis’.
