Nitro-West-Masters – Announcement

Nitro-West-Masters - Announcement

The Nitro-West-Masters, a soaring series of nitro on-road races in Western Germany, will continue in 2011 for its third year. Five races, a new class and a new procedure as well as the Nitro-West-Warmup are the main novelties for the upcoming season. Following three rounds in 2009 and four in 2010 the championship will extend to five races on five different tracks. Beside the regular categories 1/8 scale (VG8) and 1/10 scale 200mm (VG10), the so called HC8 is announced for the Nitro-West-Masters for the first time. Key point of the HC8 is the mandatory use of a unified engine, the Novarossi N21-ST including the EFRA #2015 pipe. This class is based on the Hobby-Cup, a competition organized by Shepherd Micro Racing and successfully held in the south and mid-region of Germany in recent years.

For the Nitro-West-Masters with the reigning champions Tobias Hepp (VG8) nd Sebastian Buerge (VG10), the HC8 will open the door for young drivers and returnees which are fascinated by the 1/8 scale cars. The new class provides an excellent value for money as the Novarossi package is offered for a very low price (209 Euro, only 139 Euro for the engine). A special trackside service will also be available for all HC8 competitors.

A new procedure was chosen for the qualification with three heats about seven minutes each and with the best three consecutive laps to be counted. This procedure, which avoids the fuel capacity and quick refuelling issue, will also be operated for the Western German Championships. As in the past the duration of the finales will be as long as possible depending on the time frame and amount of competitors.

For the first time the Nitro-West-Warmup will be held on Sunday, 10th of April, at the traditional raceway at Oberhausen as an exclusive test day for all nitro racers of the classes VG8, VG10, HC8 and KWC West (Kyosho World Cup).

Permanent starting numbers for the whole season and an end-of-season price ceremony at the Nitro-West-Brunch are again part of nitro racing in Western Germany.

The Nitro-West-Masters is also open for entries from foreign countries.
