Lee Martin takes 4wd Worlds Warmup victory

Lee Martin takes 4wd Worlds Warmup victory

It was the turn of the 4wd class to hit the track today in Vaasa Finland, for the Electric offroad World Championship warmup race. In what was an extremely windy day, qualifying would see 4 different TQs across the 4 rounds of heats, with Ryan Maifield taking Q1, Neil Cragg Q2, Lee Martin Q3 and Jared Tebo Q4. When the points were taking from the two fastest runs it was the two British drivers Lee Martin and Neil Cragg tied on points, with Lee taking the TQ spot by virtue of a faster time. Jared Tebo would start in 3rd with Ryan Cavalieri in 4th and Hupo Honigl completing the top 5. In the 3 leg A-mains it was first blood to Associated driver Neil Cragg, with Tamiya factory driver Lee Martin taking 2nd and Durango driver Joern Neumann in 3rd. Leg 2 would see Martin take the win ahead of Associated driver Ryan Cavalieri in 2nd and Kyosho main man Jared Tebo in 3rd. The final deciding leg saw Lee Martin take the win once again to wrap up the overall with Ryan Cavalieri taking 2nd and Neil Cragg 3rd. The two Associated drivers would end tied on points so Cragg took 2nd due to his leg 1 win. A lot of the factory teams are now staying on at the track for a few more days to do more testing.
