Levin & Ausfelt crowned Swedish Champions

Levin & Ausfelt crowned Swedish Champions

The Swedish Offroad Nationals was held in Tomelilla at the EOS pilot race track last weekend. The track layout was different now from the EOS with a lot more traction and the track was faster this time so making a mistake would be costly. In 2wd it was Kyosho’s David Ronnefalk that took TQ in front of Oskar Levin and Otto Ausfelt. The first final was all about Ronnefalk and Levin. A clean final with Ronnefalk holding the place to take the win in the first leg. The second final started with Ronnefalk out front but after making a mistake on the second lap let Levin and Ausfelt past. Levin was running a clean final without mistake to take the second leg. The third final would decide who was going to take the Swedish national title. Ronnefalk was out front but made a mistake and again let Levin and Ausfelt past and again Levin took the lead and never looked back to win the Swedish national title.

On Sunday it was time to put the 4wd cars on the track. Just as in 2wd it was Levin, Ausfelt and Ronnefalk that were very fast. Kennie Ekenstierna was also a driver that was setting some fast lap times. The qualification was dominated by Otto Ausfelt winning 3 of the 4 qualifying rounds. Ausfelt was TQ followed by Levin and Ronnefalk. The first final was all about Ausfelt, making a very good run to take the first final. David Hassel, starting from 6th position, made a good final taking second spot. At the start of the second final it was Ausfelt, Levin and Ronnefalk out in front making some space between the rest of the field. Levin and Ronnefalk was battling it out and Ausfelt running clean and holding the place and didnĀ“t made any mistake to take the second win and the overall Swedish national title in 4wd. The third final was interesting because 4 drivers was fighting for the podium spots. With Ausfelt as champion it was Levin starting from the first spot. After making a mistake at the first lap and taking Ronnefalk with him it was Kennie Ekenstierna that took the lead. Levin and Ronnefalk were down in the last spots and were working their way up to the top with a run that really was a show. After 4:30 in the final they were up putting some pressure on Ekenstierna. On the last lap Ronnefalk made an small error and jumped too short and by mistake took out Levin to let Hassel through. After a very fast and tight final it was Ekenstierna that took the win in the third leg.
