Marc Rheinard wins 2011 Italian Charity Race

Earlier this month Team La Gang organized a big event for Charity in the permanent track of RCLandia in Scandiano, Italy. The scope of the race was to collect money to donate, this year, to the Child division of the Reggio Emilia’s Hospital. Team La Gang in cooperation with ToniSport decided to use the same rules as  the ETS round 2 which will take place on the same track in January which gave the racers the chance to  practice in the Pro-Stock division, which is the most popular class in the ETS thanks to the fantastic rules and the support of Speed Passion, the new Formula 1 class and the Modified class.

The ‘Charity Race’ had 100 drivers and with the idea of raising money for Reggio Emilia´s Hospital the focus was not only racing but more enjoying and helping to collect as much money as possible. After the qualifying the race was stopped and  Team La Gang made the Lottery with a lot of stuff that all the sponsors had donated. A Charity auction where the professional pilots has donated their race bodies followed afterwards. We have to say thank you to Marc Rheinard, Viktor Wilk, Lamberto Collari, Yannic Prumper and Ronald Völker that had signed their own body used at the event along with Atsushi Hara & Masami Hirosaka who have sent their bodies signed for the auction. We also want to thank Eric Dankel who sent us his body as well but due to the slow post service it didn’t reach us in time. We will donate it at the next race and give the money as well to the Hospital.

After the 2 days Team la Gang had collected €5000 and after the Christmas period they will buy needed things for the Children division of the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital in Reggio Emilia.

The fun weekend reached its climax with the A-mains, the Pro Stock A-main saw a big fight between the 2 local drivers Francesco Martini and Diego Macchioni against the Swiss pilot Philip Tschupp. In the Modified class Marc Rheinard has showed why he is the 3 times world champion when in the second A-main Marc lost the lead due to a mistake but then passed Alexander Hagberg who was leading at that time to retake it. The Formula 1 race saw Andrea Acquilino, the Italian foam F1 champion, fight against the Zoppeletto Marco and his new WRC F-ONE followed by the historical Tamiya pilot Franco Spaggiari.
