Toy Fair 2012 – Motonica

Italian firm Motonica have the prototype of their all new Celero X1 telemetry system on display. This unit, which mounts on to the radio plate of your car, weighs approximately 40 grams and features a temperature gauge, accelerometers and GPS unit and allow you to track the engine temperature, speed and lap times through bluetooth. The information is transmitted live to your iPhone, which uses a specially designed app, using bluetooth. The system is some time away from being completed but offers some interesting possibilities for drivers during test sessions.

On the car front the P81 RS2 is the companies flagship product with its patented front steering block that easily allows changes to the king pin angle, ackermann and wheel axle position. Other new features include a new front shock tower, removable front lower shock absorber support and rear upper track rods in place of the regular wishbones, whose flex offers more traction. Finally kevlar pulleys throughout give a smooth belt transmission.

For VOX engines there are two new additions to the range with the release of the .12 Dieci T-1 Pro, a 3 port engine, a high performance and economical engine for the 1/10th scale class. There is also the new Rally Pro motor, for rally game, which is a 7+2 port motor and is based off the Otto V-1PT top of the line on road engine but fitted with a rally game cooling head.

Other new items include a new rear bodymount for the P8C Extreme 2 pan car which sees the unit mounted directly to the main rear blocks instead of the uprights for better downforce and a reduction in body deformation. There is a new 2069 muffler for .21 on road engines which works to improve mid to top end power and finally there are new carbon stiff rims from Motonica which have been added to their line-up of tires.
