Jefferies completes 1/12th National double

At the final round of this season’s BRCA 1:12 national championship a win for Olly Jefferies saw the Associated team driver take the stock title, he adds this to the modified crown he secured at the previous round. In qualifying on Saturday Jefferies kept up his perfect record of TQ at every round of the stock series by taking pole for the A final, behind Olly was a strong field of challengers including Andy Griffiths for V Design and the Serpent paring of Mark Stiles and Chris Kerswell and the only person who could beat Olly to the stock title David Spashett.

From the start of the A final the chasing pack piled the pressure on Olly but he withstood the challenge first from Chris Kerswell and then from Mark Stiles, Olly held on to take the A final win ahead of David Spashett and Mark Stiles.

The Chesterfield national saw a return to on road racing for Craig Drescher, the Associated driver made the stock A final and showed he had lost none of on road carpet racing skills. Sunday saw the drivers switch to the quicker modified class for the last time this season, with the modified championship already in his pocket there was no pressure on Olly Jefferies but once again he took TQ ahead of David Spashett and Chris Kerswell.

Despite losing the lead for one lap to Spashett, Olly dominated the final and took the win ahead of David with a delighted Craig Drescher completing the podium in third. With the exception of Jefferies the podium had a very retro look about it, but Olly showed this season he is the new kid on the block and the man to beat in 1:12 scale in the UK, out of the 12 possible TQ’s available through the season Olly took 11 of them, Mark Styles the only driver to set a TQ other than Olly when he took the modified TQ at the Plymouth round.
