Law & Borkowicz dominate SF Winter Series Rd2
The biggest FL racing Series, SFL Winter Series Rd2, descended on Basher RC Raceway in Palm Beach Garden, FL last weekend and once again with the help of Mike Applegate & track owner Brain Buckley, this event was a success with a total of 160+ racers attended the event. In Mod Buggy, the battle between Felix Law & Diamon Borkowicz in qualifying was intense. Diamon was able to put a perfect run in the 2nd qualifier to take the TQ Position. In the A main, Diamon Borkowicz continue the lead, but Felix Law was able keep the pressure on. About 3 laps later, Diamon made a small mistake allowing Felix Law to take over the lead. From that point on, Felix Law never looked back & won the race while Diamon Borkowicz finished 2nd & Aaron Niznik finished 3rd.
In Mod Truck, Felix Law & Mike Applegate had the battle for TQ. With the intense 2nd qualifier, Felix Law was able to come out on top once again with the Traxxas Rustler. In the A main, Felix Law took advantage of the lead & never looked back. With his ANZA modified Rustler he was able to have a fast & consistent pace to keep ahead of the field. Felix was able to take the win, Mike Applegate finished 2nd & Jader Lopez finished 3nd.
In 4wd Mod buggy, the world famous Mike Belotti put together a clean run in qualifying, took the TQ away from young Diamon Borkowicz by just 1 second. In the A main it was another story. Mike made a huge mistake & flip over in the 3rd corner, Diamon Borkowicz was able to get by & the rest of the field got held up by the accident. During the main many drivers got close to Diamon for the battle but in the end Diamon held his place & took the win, Bart Collins finished 2nd & Chris Intravia finished 3rd.
In Mod SC, Diamon Borkowicz once again got the TQ with a flawless run. In the A main, Diamon got into trouble early on the race allowing Chris Meloche to take the lead for more than half the race. Diamon had the fastest car on the track & able to catch up to Chris. In the final min, it was the intense battle from those two drivers. In the end, Diamon Borkowicz came out on top, Chris Meloche finished 2nd & Cory Schoppmeyer finished 3rd.
In Mod 4×4 SC, Felix Law was able to take the TQ with the only 25 laps run of the day. In the A main, Felix Law had a comfortable lead but at the 2 minute mark Felix made a mistake missing a corner & possibly lost a screw from his front suspension arm. Cory Schoppmeyer took the advantage & took over the lead. Felix continue to race, his lap time are slower but still consistent. Cory made a mistake & allowed Felix to take over the lead again. In the end, Felix held on and won the race, Christopher Viesins took 2nd on the last lap & Cory Schoppmeyer finished 3rd. All three drivers were using Tenshock SC411 motor.
