Elliot Harper wins BRCA TC series Rd4

In winning round four of the BRCA 1:10 electric touring car series at Snetterton Tamiya’s Elliott Harper became the fourth different winner from four events, his win sets up a winner takes all championship showdown at the final round at Mendip in a month’s time. After five rounds of qualifying it was the Associated TC6.1 of Olly Jefferies that took TQ, but in putting himself on pole Olly had used all his tyres allocation, second place on the grid was championship favourite Chris Grainger, Grainger could have wrapped up the 2012  title if he could win here, Harper lined up third on the grid.

As the cars started the first of the three leg finals Jefferies pulled out a small lead, then it started to rain with all the cars on slicks, Elliott Harper came through to take leg one with a superb demonstration of car control in the tricky conditions. Second was Colin Price and third Paul Pinkney. Leg two and the battle was on between Jefferies and Grainger, the pair raced hard and there was some inevitable contact which allowed Harper through to take leg two, Grainger and Jefferies came together on the last lap allowing the Xray of Phil Chambers through to finish second while Olly recovered for third just ahead of Grainger.

Despite five minutes of pressure from Grainger, Jefferies took a buzzer to flag victory in leg three leaving the overall result a win for Elliott with Olly second and Chris Grainger third for Schumacher. With one round remaining at Mendip next month five drivers go the last round with a chance of winning the UK title, Chris Grainger, Andy Moore, Olly Jefferies, Colin Price and Elliott Harper all have a shot and it should make for a great final race showdown.
