Crispy Critters Short Course Showdown report

Crispy Critters Raceway of Fairfield NJ held its first Short Course Showdown, hosted by Steve Charles. Classes consisted of 2WD and 4WD Modified Short Course, 2WD Spec Short Course and 2WD Modified Truck. The turnout was great with over 50 entries with the most popular class being 4WD Short Course. In the Blinky Spec Short Course class, TQ Steve Charles led the first lap before Aja made a nice pass on Lap 2 and never looked back. Third place B. Love filled out the podium.

Whilst this was a Short Course event, Stadium Truck was also included to try and promote the class. TQ Santos Colon took off from the start relinquishing the lead briefly to Hamson, before taking it back in Lap 9. Bonhomme who suffered some electrical problems at the start ran third before Hamson had a bad landing off the Ski Jump section of the track ending up 3rd, with Colon and Bonhomme taking 1st and 2nd respectively.

2WD Short Course Mod again saw TQ Steve Charles take a commanding lead. The rest of the race saw 2nd and 3rd change places several times between Aja, Bobcat and Medina. Charles held the lead to the end, with Aja and Medina rounding out the field.

4WD Short Course Mod saw Martino take an early lead after some early Lap 1 carnage. Martino pulled away from the pack and never looked back. Charles and Medina swap places as the race progressed. Charles would prevail to take 2nd and bump-up McCarthy Jr. bringing home 3rd place.
