Norwegian Indoor Championship report

Last weekend the 2013 Indoor Norwegian Championship was held at the new permanent indoor facility at Mustit Raceway in Moss. The race saw 59 drivers attending participating in 1:10 modified, 1:12th scale modified and the three support classes World GT, Pro Stock and Formula F1. After five rounds of qualifying with only the best run to count, Adrian Berntsen was able to take the TQ with 29 laps @ 5:00:248 in front of team mate Petter Berntsen who claimed 2nd spot on the grid with a 29 lap run @ 4:04:881. After some very close finishes with 1.5 seconds separating 3rd and 7t! position on the grid, Oskar Fjeld got himself the 3rd spot for the finals.

In the finals it was Adrian Berntsen who took the win in all three legs, a head of Petter Berntsen who got 2nd in all finals and also 2nd place overall. Niklas Bjørkå Roos who started 8th on the grid, was driving really well in the finals and took 3rd overall and the last position on the podium.

In the 1:12th class, Joakim Nicolaisen was the actual TQ man, but after being too late to marshal one of the heats, his TQ time was deleted and this dropped him down to start only 4th. Helge Johannesen, who finished 10th at the 1:12th scale EC in Finland, struggled a lot through qualifying but as a result of Joakim Nicolaisen got his best run deleted, Helge took the TQ honour in front of Lars Haugen in 2nd and Joakim Waale Løken in 3rd.

In the finals it was going to be a close fight between TQ man Helge Johannesen and Lars Haugen who was both driving impressively fast and consistent. After Helge taking the win in the first final, Lars took the win in the second final while Helge struggled with his car and DNF. Therefore the battle was set for the win in the last final. Lars and Helge fought almost throughout the whole race, and was changing of being the leader many times. But Lars made an unfortunate mistake at a late point of the race, which saw Helge overtake him and never look back. Helge took the important win in the last final and therefore also his sixth consecutive Norwegian champion title.

Norwegian Indoor Championship report

In the Pro Stock support class it was the two local youngsters Magnus Guttormsen and Daniel Kobbevik who totally dominated with being the fastest in all qualifications and final. Magnus was a little bit faster and more consistent and could easily cruise into victory winning all of the finals in front Daniel Kobbevik who finished 2nd and Vidar Baltersen who finished 3rd.
