The opening round of the Swedish Cup took place this weekend at the Skövde motorstadium in central southern Sweden. After a long winter it was the first major gas offroad race in Sweden this season but despite running electric all winter it was young superstar David Ronnefalk who take the TQ spot ahead of his Kyosho team mate Christoffer Svensson in 2nd, the pair swapping round wins during qualifying. Andreas Edvinsson and Mikael Johansson would complete the top 4. Following the semis there was no major upsets and the Ronnefalk would again start from the front for the 45 minute final. The race would be a 3 way battle between the Kyosho trio of Ronnefalk, Svensson and Johansson, finishing in that order with less than a lap separating the podium finishers. With round 1 in the books attention now moves the Euros warmup which takes place next week in France.
