Hoppe wins 1/8th at North German championship Rd3

The 3rd round of the North German championship took place on the track of the MSC Braunschweig club. Unfortunately nearly the complete practise and the first round of qualifying was rained out on Saturday but in the evening the track was dry the drivers could hit the track for some practise laps. On Sunday the weather was much better and the track stayed dry all day. In the morning three rounds of qualifying were held. Shepherd team driver Lars Hoppe showed an excellent performance with his Sonic-powered Velox V8 “Pro” and secured himself the pole-position for the 30 minute final followed by Serpent pairing of Andreas Giesa and Merlin Depta with Shepherd/Sonic driver Timo Schröder in 4th position.

The final was an unspectacular affair with the order in the front remaining the same the complete race. Hoppe crossed the finishing line three laps in front of Andreas Giesa with Merlin Depta completing the podium in front of Timo Schröder. In the 1/10th scale class Marcel Schmidt had an excellent debut with his Velox V10 “Pro” and finished in second position behind Stefan Heisterkamp with Michael Böhling completing the podium.
