Silvio Hächler takes round 4 in Switzerland

Silvio Hächler takes round 4 in Switzerland

The 4th round of the 2013 Swiss championship was hosted by the MRCAL in the south-west of Switzerland. The organisation there is always excellent so we expected a nice event. The weather forecast was good for Friday and Sunday with about 24 degrees. Unfortunately Saturday was bad with rain for the whole day. On Friday morning the track was closed but we used the time to prepare all the stuff for the afternoon. The organisers prepared the track with sugar water, so we had good grip. Silvio Hächler set the new track record with 17.359 already on Friday. After the expected rain arrived on Saturday, it was decided to make to more qualification rounds on Sunday morning with all drivers happy about this decision. So we all used the Saturday to prepare our cars for the busy Sunday with qualifying and finals on the same day.

In the amateur class it was youngster Asendorf Noah who took the pole just 0.3 seconds in front of the second placed Andy Geisser.

Here we have the top 5:
1. Asendorf Noah – 16L 5:08.493
2. Geisser Andy – 16L 5:08.799
3. Scherer Rudi – 16L 5:13.692
4. Rizzo Marco – 16L 5:17.067
5. Pittet Benoit – 16L 5:18.318

In the expert class it was Silvio who would put his Novarossi powered Mugen on the front of the field with two TQ runs!

Here the top 5 in the expert class:
1. Hächler Silvio – 17L 5:10.308
2. Kurzbuch Simon – 17L 5:16.040
3. Nydegger Jürg – 17L 5:16.427
4. Martinelli Luca – 17L 5:16.824
5. Pesenti Mattia – 17L 5:17.569

During the Semi-Finals from the Amateurs, Andy Geisser had bad luck, touching an opponent while lapping him and destroyinh his exhaust. Noah drove a strong semi-final and took the pole. In the 30 minutes Final Noah was never challenged and won his first race! He now leads the amateur championship too.

Here the top 5 Amateurs after the Final:
1. Asendorf Noah – 91L 30:13.426 (Motonica, Novarossi)
2. Eberdorfer Oliver – 90L 30:19.331 (Serpent, OS)

4. Albani Angelo – 86L 30:03.271 (Mugen, Novarossi)
5. Niederberger Stefan – 83L 30:06.368 (Motonica, OS)

In the expert Semis the strategies were very different, some peoples changed the tyres and some didn’t. At the end Silvio could take the pole without changing his tyres in front of Simon and Mattia.

The Final was a hard fight with each driver changing tyres two times. Both drivers, Silvio and Simon, drove a perfect race with the better end for Silvio, who saved one pit-stop with his Vir-tus engine. Silvio is now in a very good situation to win this year’s championship with only two races left.
