New CRC 12th foams, rims and springs

New CRC 12th foams, rims and springs

Calandra Racing Concepts have two new 1/12th scale foams, updated rims and additional side and rear springs available. Starting with the foam tyres, new are the Greene soft and Blu medium compound made from a special Japanese rubber. Used for the first time at the 2012 IFMAR World Championships in the Netherlands the new foam offers high grip and low wear and it slightly differs from the Pink/Magenta/Purple and the Black/Grey/Yellow/White family 1/12th racers have used for years. The names are borrowed from the older American Green and Blue compounds to name the new additions. The tyres come mounted to CRC’s new Flex HR38 rims. They use the same mould and design as the known 38mm High Roller rims but are made using a new more flexible material that produces increased grip. The nylon material is very durable allowing the weekly club racer to have many “board meetings” with little to no damage to the rim. The Flex rim is a running change to CRC’s line of Pro Cuts pre-mounted wheels.

Next up are the Pro-Center springs for the CRC Encore, VCS and HPI mini shock. Available are 10 new springs for 1/12th, WGT and oval racing. In addition to being available separately, these springs are grouped into two different spring sets of soft and hard types. Last but not least come the Pro-tapered side springs that fit CRC and most link cars using the tapered cone springs. They are made unpainted music wire which is known for its high tensile strength and high elastic limit. Music wire can withstand high stresses under repeated loadings, and will continue to perform well under many normal cyclic applications. CRC have the pro-tapers in .45mm, .50mm, .55 mm and .60mm available.
