110% RC Racing clinic report

110% RC Racing clinic

The inaugural 110% RC Racing clinic is in the books and it was a huge success. Ty and Gord Tessmann sent us the following report. ‘There were 9 teams (one team couldn’t make it at the last minute) consisting of a driver and a mechanic.  The ages of the participants ranged from 9 to 47 yrs old, and as it turned out we had a lot of father and son duos participating.  The participants were very receptive to what we had to say and we were impressed by their willingness to learn.  Over the four days there were a lot of questions and the occasional debate.  We did see noticeable improvement in the participants driving from the first time on the track to the last time, they worked very hard.  The youngest driver, Peyton at 9 yrs old, reminded me of Ty when he was that age, very smooth and consistent on the track and very quiet, it was awesome to see a huge improvement in him.

At one point someone asked in regards to the clinic,  “What’s in it for you guys?”  Our answer to that question is we want to give back, when we started there were some pros, Adam Drake, Travis Amezcua, Jimmy Babcock, and many others who made a huge impression on Ty and who were always very helpful and easy to approach.  We want to help and encourage people like they helped us and this is one way to share our knowledge with others.  It was a very exhausting 4 days but also a very fulfilling 4 days.

We would like to thank those that helped us make this first clinic a success, Torrance Deguzman, Adam Drake, Chris Marrale (Palm Desert Raceway), Daniel Adams, Proline Racing for all there help and support and all the participants, without them there would not have been a clinic. “Not from age but from knowledge does wisdom come”.
